A superb oasis in the very bustling city of Jaipur. The room we stayed in was magnificent and this family run homestay was very welcoming. It is also very eco friendly - discouraging the use of plastic, having their own cows for milk and converting the cow dung into gas for cooking. Jaipur was my favourite Indian city and I would recommend Dera Mandawa to anyone.

this was another place which really was very close to our heart. this place is hidden off busy streets in Jaipur. The hospitality, service and accommodations are great. The family owner is attentive and truly informative. It was a delightful experience; we would definitely stay again.

I have just returned from a trip to India and of all the 8 very different places I stayed this has to be my favourite. When the mini bus turned in the small entrance I wondered where on earth it was going....but this lovely place is well hidden off a very busy street in Jaipur and truly is a haven of tranquility amongst the noise and chaos. We were given a warm welcome and refreshments by the friendly hosts after a long 6 hour drive....and lots of information both interesting...and practical about our stay. Our group of 5 had 3 upper rooms clustered around a small courtyard...complete with day beds to relax on...we loved sitting here after dinner...with a cool drink....reading, chatting, or enjoying the free wifi. Rooms 5, 6 and 7 together are perfect for larger families or a group of friends touring together. All are very individual...beautifully decorated...and I had the luxury of 6....the Honeymoon suite...complete with a round bed...and parrots 'to take you up to a higher place' or so I was told!

All staff here were courteous, friendly and attentive, and worked so hard to make sure our every need was catered for. The owners were very 'hands on' and we had the pleasure of chatting to them on several occasions and of seeing them dressed in their finery to attend a local wedding. The food was very tasty and plentiful and although the menu was small all the dishes we tried were excellent. This is a small concern and all food is prepared freshly so we had to order our choices an hour or so in advance.....this was not a problem for us. Breakfast is excellent with home made porridge.....eggs anyway you like......pancakes made to order. We had intended eating out each evening but food was so good here....and we were exhausted from being out all day ....so we were happy to eat out at lunch and dine in with drinks later on our balcony each evening. The lovely attentive staff will bring tea to your room in the morning.....a welcome treat!

If you need a good clean welcoming place to stay in Jaipur you should definitely consider the lovely Dera Mandawa. The only very slightly negative thing I can find to say is that I struggled to master the tricky shower and get hot water.....but if that's the only negative....how can I complain! I would love to stay here again one day....and wish we had stayed for longer and not moved on to the Samode Palace actually! This was true R&R!

Room Tip: Rooms 5,6,7 are set around a private first floor courtyard...perfect for small groups of friends/family. 6 has the beautiful round honeymoon bed!

This hotel is nestled in the heart of Jaipur but you would never know it. The hospitality, service and accommodations are impeccable AND they are environmentally sensitive! The family owner is attentive and truly informative. It was a delightful experience; we would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: All 8 suites are different but each has incredible charm and comfort.

We stayed two nights at the Dera Mandawa when visiting Jaipur. It is a delightful Haweli, the home of the Singh family, run as a small private hotel. The rooms, set around a private courtyard, are elegantly furnished in a traditional way, with every comfort - the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur outside the gates. The traditional indian food was delicious - we ate dinner on both evenings, as well as two delicious breakfasts. The staff are thoughtful, courteous and attentive and nothing was too much trouble - including arranging a visit to the nearby Ayurveda spa for a relaxing indian massage.

Durga Singh, the owner, shows much care and thought towards his guests and we were delighted to have the chance to discuss so much with him during our stay. We could happily have spent many hours talking with him and learning from him all about Indian history, religion and culture. As far as we are concerned, there is only one place you should choose to stay in Jaipur and this is it.

Room Tip: We had a suite on the opposite side of the courtyard to the reception.
