This hotel is very central, but still in a quiet place. It is a beautiful haveli made with love for details. Many different kinds of rooms, some facing yards. Rooms are very peaceful and quiet, and absolutely clean. You can spend many days or weeks there and still feel well. Staff is very friendly and helpful, really no complaints. And not expensive either!

After a somewhat disappointing experience in Udaipur, I really, really wanted the place I stayed at in Jaipur to stand out. Enter Rawla Mrignayani. For a budget traveler, this place is a steal - I payed around 1200rs/night and was given a choice of two rooms upon my arrival, both of which were large, airy, clean, and brightly decorated. Both rooms also featured cable TV (with English movie channels if watching TV while traveling is your thing), and came with towels, soap, and toilet paper (you don't always get these everywhere you stay in India). My late-night reception (train from Udaipur was delayed) was heart-warming (not going to ruin the surprise) and reassuring, and the staff was always friendly and never pushy. Breakfast is also good and cheap and is often ordered the night before, as the hotel lacks its own kitchen and orders out (not a problem for me).

In regards to location, Rawla Mrignayani is a bit off the beaten path in terms of the more touristy areas of Jaipur, and this can make it hard for rickshaw and taxi drivers to find (not an issue if you make sure you use the PRE-PAID taxi and autorickshaw booths at the train station/airport - tuk tuk should cost in between rs 150-200 depending on the time of day and traffic). And while it is a bit tucked away from M I Road where all the popular restaurants and nightlife spots are, Mrignayani's location still has some things to offer those who don't mind adventuring through Jaipur's crazy congested streets on foot to find great street food and all the other awesome edibles Rajasthan's capital has to offer. There is also a grocery store right down the street for snacks, and the hotel is located within a moderate walking distance to the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar.

The only real downside here is that you have to pay to use wifi in the courtyard, but at a relatively negligible fee. If you're one of those people who needs to be connected all the time, this place might not be for you as there are hardly any efficient nearby cyber cafes either. If connectivity isn't a concern though, this is the place to be. It's in a relatively quiet place considering how crazy most of Jaipur can be, and provides a heritage hotel feel for a fraction of the price that other places charge. Highly recommended.

Nice place to have a quite and calm stay. It was my second stay recently at the hotel. First one being exactly an year ago to that. That first one was with family. First thing in the consideration was indeed the price- I booked through a travel site and a price of 925 Rs per night for a spacious double-bedded room on terrace with a separate siting area, TV, Fridge, geyser, and a bath tub (though stopper was missing.. again!) is probably much to be asked for. Not just this, it has one of the best location approach wise- on a walking distance from all the prime tourist spots of Jaipur i.e. Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar-Mantar, Badi Chaupad, Jauhari Bazar, et.al. Despite being so close, exact location of hotel is away from all the city chaos. Next comes the feel- might not have all the luxury but a feel of heritage hotel in a three hundred old Haveli is great.

Now few drawbacks-
Hotel does not have a full-fledged restaurant, hence don't expect too many things except a regular Indian & continental breakfast. Rooms are scattered around in the mansion, hence it is tough climb through narrow stairs to the room. Service staff needs to be more prompt, (being basically family run establishment has its advantages as well as disadvantages) as well as the toiletries. In a tough and competitive hospitality industry, you need to be thorough professional.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the terrace, you can have a good view of the city as well as the Nahargarh fort. Be...

This is a beautiful old havelli with hidden courtyards and an indoor fountain in the reading room (yes there is a reading room!) Our room was great, huge with a separate sleeping and sitting area, very large bathroom, ac, tv, fridge and decorated in keeping with the havelli. I couldn't believe that it only cost 1100rs when most heritage places in rajasthan start at 3 times this price.

When we arrived we were given welcome drinks, flower garlands, bindhis and showered with flower petals so we really did feel like royalty! The staff are friendly and helpful, although I wouldn't recommend the restaurant in town that they suggest.

The hotel is very convenient for walking to the city palace but there aren't a lot of restaurants immediately nearby so you might want to take a rickshaw. The buffet breakfast and snacks were all good.

Our only complaint would be the steep hourly charge for the wifi, which was free everywhere else we stayed in India. But who cares about wifi when you are staying in such a beautiful place. Also make sure you check a few rooms as the one we were shown first wasn't as special as the one we chose.

This was one of the best places we stayed in India, enjoy it before everyone else finds it too and the prices go up!

This 300 year old Haveli is like the happy closing scenes from the movie "The Exotic Marigold Hotel" It is old, charming, rambling, and most importantly everything works. Built by the Prime Minister of Jaipur State, it allegedly only shares with the royal palace a gateway designed to that a man riding on an elephant with a Havda can enter the Haveli. It rambles skyward to four stories--each with unique terraces. The view from the top is worth the climb. Do be careful of monkeys. The rooms are truly unique. We stayed in two and both were wonderful. The price of 1000 rupees was very low for the size and quality of the rooms.

The menu (breakfast and snacks) is competitively priced to other similar guesthouses. It is a 10- 15 minute easy walk to the Palace and central shopping area. From the train station 105 rupee prepaid rickshaw and from bus station 70 rupees prepaid taxi.

They provide a map with easy to follow directions and suggestions for restaurants for dinner. They also negotiated a rickshaw for us on 2 occasions at the prepaid rickshaw price.

The service was attentive. The only surprise was the price of 200 rupees per day for wifi. We had our own so did not need to use it, but generally wifi is free in most guest houses in India or a flat fee of 100 rupees for the duration of the stay.

If you want a truly unforgettable experience in this wonderful hotel stay here, before it become too popular!

Family run haveli now converted into bed and breakfast. Very lovely and welcoming family hosts. the place is delightful and full of narrow stairways through which you come upon courtyards like a magicland. Had a lovely time here. Rooms are great. Breakfast was a feast with its variety of Indian and Continental. Royal experience at easily affordable prices.

We were very pleased with finding this hotel. It was charming, friendly and like living in a palace. We met many fun travelers during our stay. It had nice communal areas. The location was also good walking distance to the sights and shops. The food was also nice as a quick snack from the restaurant and the masala tea was lovely throughout the day from the restaurant. We had a great time. The staff were so helpful and friendly.
