“Amazing temple in the heart of Jaipur”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

Visiting Jaipur is not complete without a trip to Govind Devji Temple. It is a pilgrimage spot for many visitors, and locals come here every day to worship as well. Its situated right by the City Palace, with a direct view so the kings of old could worship from their homes. It's clean, and well maintained, and you can leave your shoes with trusted attendants, which makes this a nice pilgrimage as well as a spiritual one.

“Temple with immense historical value”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha Ji. Before visiting the temple make sure you inquire regarding the temple opening and closing times since the temple opens for short durations at different times of the day and then again closes between the gaps. The opening and closing times also change with seasons and hence its important to get that information. Be ready to walk a distance for reaching the temple as the car parking is some distance away. You can actually avoid parking your car very near to the temple lest you get stuck in traffic as soon as everybody leaves after the scheduled closing. As you walk towards the temple, you will encounter many beggars. You must avoid the urge to give anything to them in open (if you want to give anything at all) since otherwise you would soon be surrounded by a crowd of beggars. If you have to give something then pass it quietly without the other beggars noticing it. Once inside the temple complex you can leave you shoes a the shoe stand and then relax and enjoy the spirituality and peacefulness of the place.

The good thing about the temple is that you can get a view of the main deities from a distance and don't bother trying to get too ahead in the line of devotees since you will encounter a lost of jostling for space there. You can buy prasad at the shop inside the temple. If you want then you can distribute prasad there (you will see many people doing the same) but you will soon attract a crowd and hence if you want to avoid that, you can distribute the prasad later once you reach your house/hotel.

The holiness and sanctity of the place can be felt once you are there.

Amazing temple . It's such a great feeling to go there . It's majestic . One of the very few lord Krishna temple where you feel the magic and you feel lost when you are there .. Coming from Delhi I should say you should go first then do rest of the things as when u come to the hotel and then think of goin back is very difficult .. So if u believe in lord Krishna please be there ..

“You can skip all attractions to see this if you have less time.”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 via mobile

Title is not written to signify that it's a beautiful temple but let's be honest this is the most important place in Jaipur. Shrinath Ji or lord Krishna is the deity in the temple with Radha ji. The temple can be approached from city palace.

“A Temple inside the City Palace complex”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Govind Devji Temple is situated inside the complex of City Palace in Jaipur. Maharaja of Jaipur builted this temple inside the City Palace in such a way that it can be seen from the Chandra Mahal building. There is well planned garden in front of the temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. A large number of people, who visit the City Palace, also go to this temple to offer their prayers and seek blessings from Lord Krishna. It is an excellent opportunity to get blessings of Lord Krishna here.

Nearby places of tourist attraction:

1. Jantar Mantar
2. Hawa Mahal
3. Jal Mahal
4. Jahuri Bazaar
