“HIGH HANDED HOTEL”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2012

We stayed at this very beautiful place for two days. The place is palatial but our would be perfect stay was marred by the attitude of the staff. We got the feeling that we were not really welcome and the staff was more eager and welcoming to the foreigners. Though the lady at the reception was welcoming and warm but most of the other staff made us feel as though we were staying for the first time at a five star property. A really good place but the arrogant behavior of staff left us disappointed.

A former palace the grounds of the Rambagh Palace are absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are spectacular and the service is impeccable. Overall a really beautiful hotel and a worthwhile experience. A real oasis in the craziness that India can feel like.
A couple of quick comments, the air conditioning can use improvement. it was loud and the temperature was inconsistent which interfered with my sleep.
Also, considering the quality of the hotel I found the gym to be adequate but that's all. the equipment was in excellent condition but was somewhat limited but the rooms, off to the side of the pool, was not that inviting. Also, the aerobic equipment is separated from the rest of the equipment.

Room Tip: i am sure every room is exceptional.

From the moment we drove up the magnificent driveway we knew our stay here was going to be a liftetime experience. We were welcomed by Soni and presented with sweet smelling garlands and a refreshing drink. Soni took us on a tour of the Palace and I wish everyone could be given the chance to stay in this beautiful hotel The rooms are the best we have ever stayed, so clean and spacious, and the staff had the ability to anticipate our needs. The restaurants, and we ate in all of them, deserved a rating of ten out ten for food and ten out of ten for the chef and the staff. Our last night we ate in the fine dining room where we were treated to an experience that we will never forget. The staff had time to teach us about Indian food which we knew very little about, they explained the regions where the food is from and the different spices Unfortunately our stay here had to end and we were checked out again by Soni. This lovely young lady needs to be given every accolade we can give for her care and kindness and her efficiency which is given with so much warmth. I cried when I left. I hope one day I will be able to go back to this beautiful Palace.

Having stayed at the Rambagh Palace, before it was part of the Taj group, we were happy to stay again for 6 days whilst attending wedding celebrations. What a surprise to see the extensive and sensitive upgrade that had been carried out by the Taj Group since our last visit. We were greeted with such courtesy and dignified charm. The check in was seamless, our butler a fountain of knowledge and discetion.

The suite was exquisitely decorated and furnished. The best traditional silks and embroideries used for soft furnishings. Everything about the Palace had been polished to perfection. The staff treated us with great care, even arranging a special "cough buster" tea for us, when they heard us coughing after a long evening in the winter desert air.

Nothing was too much trouble. and I mean Nothing! Every need was anticipated.

Taking breakfast on the terrace looking out on the beautifully maintained gardens made for a relaxing start to the day. The ever helpful, beautifully trained staff made us feel that were were the most important people in the world.

The food was professionally and perfectly prepared and served. The front desk staff gave us informed guidance about where to find the perfect violet sari and advice on wedding gifts that struck just the right note. Another staff member was happy to guide us to the lovely library for some quiet reading.

Staff made sure that we were collected from our wedding in the early hours of the morning in a timely manner. Their choice of guides in Jaipur is what you would expect from this great hotel. I cannot think of anything that was not top grade. Perfection really!

The boutiques are more expensive than roadside stalls. However, these boutiques have assembled the very best merchandise. The bookshop is a gem. Stocking such a perfectly edited collection of Indian history, art, craft and jewellery books. They ship all over the world.

I do not think that we have ever experienced such a relaxing, enjoyable stay anywhere else in our extensive world travels, nor such personable, and knowledgeable service. We felt that we were very valued guests.

To top off a perfect stay, when we arrived to stay in the Taj Hotel at Colaba in Mumbai, the Rambagh staff had phoned ahead and arranged for us to be upgraded and for daily invitations to High Tea, cocktails and Brandy and chocolates after dinner. Truly exceptional. We will be back this year and so will our friends. I cannot recommend the Taj Rambagh Palace highly enough.

I cannot speak too highly of this hotel and its staff.

Room Tip: You can have confidence in any room at the Rambagh Palace.

The Rambagh palace is another beautifull property in the TAJ portfolio. With the known ingredients: nice rooms, perfect service, beautifull pool. The dining room is one of the most beautifull we experienced on our trip in India and the food is great. Just perfect.

On a recent trip to Jaipur stayed at the Rambagh palace. It is a beautiful palace surrounded by well maintained gardens, the whole ambience takes you to a different world. Stayed in the spacious palace rooms with a lovely living room and fabulous decor.Everything from the decor, the beautiful miniature paintings in the corridors, the arched doorways etc make you appreciate the aesthetic sense of the kings of Rajasthan and the way in which Taj hotels has upgraded and maintained the property. The service at Rambagh was excellent, was truly impressed by the personal care and attention given by the staff in the breakfast room.
Courteous and friendly staff, but that's what a stay at the Taj does to you, spoils you thoroughly and you start to expect the same standards everywhere.
If you are celebrating a special occasion and want to give yourself a treat, indulge and stay at this palace. One word of caution, the shops here are a rip off, you can get better deals for shopping in other places in the city.
