“Attentive staff”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

I stayed here for business and found the hotel very comfortable. I very nice large room and bathroom with AC and wifi at all times. Staff at all times very attentive and courteous. Food was excellent and the breakfasts good. What I did find best of all was the comfortable bed. The most comfortable bed in this 3 week trip to India. Gardens in the evening very nicely lit up. Watch out for the mozzie a though as I was badly bitten and there seemed to be loads more here than anywhere else. Other than that I would stay here again without any hesitation.

This hotel was a last minute choice for us. The property is nice and well maintained the bathrooms are clean and big (room 103). the property is well maintained and the pool is also clean though small but nice. Would not recommend the Ayurveda massage service, as it is not at all professional and very basic.
Check your bill while checking out for service tax. I did not check the bill in detail while checking out, did not understand why they charged service tax on food bill as service tax was already charged. So would recommend that you check your bills properly while checking out.
Overall nice property and would recommend it.

I love this place.
I was given a huge room at the front of the building overlooking the garden area. The bathroom was enormous and clean, the furnishings and decor were very tasteful.
The television reception was not good, but I didn't travel to India to watch television.
There were many delicious choices for breakfast, and the service was spot on.
I was disappointed to leave: the long, breezy galleries, the tables and chairs scattered throughout the gardens.
For just a few days I felt like a wealthy nabob on my regular visit to Jaipur. Sigh, imagine............

Excellent location
Beautiful grounds
Helpful staff
Clean room with vintage furnishings
Very pleasant (though this is not a LUXURY hotel by Western standards -- it is a vintage place)
Great breakfast buffet including western and Indian foods
Great restaurant with varied menu
Oasis from the chaos of Jaipur
Helpful staff in procuring taxi to airport, special birthday cake, and other "extras"

Note: we were there when A/C was not needed, so I cannot testify about that. We used our room heater, which (though a portable plug-in model) was adequate.

Bathroom had glassed-in shower, no tub. Bathroom was fine and clean; not luxurious.
Adequate storage room for clothing and toiletries
Pool was not clean enough for swimming, though was lovely to look at

We stayed across the street at the Alsisar Haveli in 2007, and now at the Mandawa in 2014. Both are genuine heritage hotels and both are lovely places of peace and quiet in a loud, hectic city. I would stay at either again. Alsisar was more expensive, more decorated with painted artwork, and the pool was cleaner at the time of our stay. Our bathroom at Mandawa was nicer. Both are excellent choices for a heritage hotel in Jaipur.

We arrived at Mandawa Haveli very late at night after another hotel we had booked months prior had unfortunately messed up our booking.
The man at the desk was very friendly. He told us that there was only the Rs9000 suite available (for 2 of us), so we booked it for 3 nights, explaining that we may change our booking the next day if we were not happy, even though it was WAY above our budget (the hotel we had booked into was Rs1200/night). We were very tired and really just wanted to go to bed!
We were shown to our suite, which had a lovely old world charm and had a small spa bath (although I found a HUGE cockroach in the bathroom!), but when we realised the wifi did not reach our room, we explained that we might have to go somewhere else, even though we were very tired, because one thing we definitely need whilst travelling is wifi, as we did not have a local sim and needed to contact family etc. Of course, after we threatened to leave all of a sudden other rooms became available. The second room also did not have internet. The third room was much smaller and had no bath, but when I asked the price he said the same as the suite! Then when I hesitated, he suddenly changed that to Rs7500, instead of 9000. We agreed as we were so tired.
The internet was fairly patchy overnight and the aircon did not reach the bathroom...which was VERY hot. We had very sore backs in the morning, so I'm not sure about the mattresses (& I have travelled extensively throughout Asia, so I am not a princess, lol). The next morning when we went down for the buffet breakfast (included in the price) at 9am (we were told the night before that it was from 7-10am) we were told it "is finished" so we could order whatever we wanted from the a la carte menu, which was very basic. We ordered porridge and toast and coffee and when they asked what juice we wanted we said bottled water was fine...then they had the cheek to try to charge us Rs60 for the water!
We decided we'd had enough so we packed our things and went to check out. The man at the desk tried his best to get us to both pay for the water and stay! Needless to say we paid our bill for the one night and left. We felt they were lucky to get the whole Rs7500 as we didn't get the buffet breakfast we were promised.
Although the grounds are beautiful, I could never justify staying there again for the price.
Sorry guys, but you really need to smarten up your act :)

We stayed here for one night and found the experience very strange. After turning up to the hotel we had booked and finding out they had forgotten our reservation we came here very late and the hotel staff were quite accommodating. We were put into a beautiful (but fairly pricey) suite however the wifi did not work in this room. I asked if it could be fixed but it turned out the wifi didn't reach this room. So I asked it we could be moved to another room that was closer to the main part of the hotel. We were told there were no more rooms. However, after telling them that we would have find a new hotel there were many room we could try. We were shown to three different rooms until we found one with wifi. The room we ended up taking was a lot smaller and a little cheaper. It was frustrating that we were put in the most expensive room when we did not ask for a suite and we told it was the only room at the time.

The aircon did not service the entire room and the bathroom was boiling. We also found a cockroach in the bath.

In the morning we went to the 'buffet breakfast'. We were told that the buffet was finished even though we turned up at 9 - an hour before we were told (only the night before) the buffet would still be running. We were instead offered a complimentary breakfast from the menu. However, at the end of the meal we were charged for the water they brought out to the table without asking us - Rs60 for a standard 500mL bottle.

We also didn't see a single other guest the entire time we were there which was odd.

We decided to check out and were pushed into staying. However we left

The only saving grace was that the grounds were quite beautiful.
