Owner description: Made of red and pink sandstone, Jaipur's signature palace of unusual architecture is a stunning example of local artistry. The top of the Hawa Mahal offers an excellent view over the city.

Being in the center of the town make the place quite unique with all the activities going on around. We had the chance to visit the place on the world tourism day and that was a big advantage as we didn't have much crowd around cause the center of Jaipur is always very busy with lots of people going around.

This might not be the most magnificent palace in Rajastan, but is certainly worth visiting. Most people, even guides and drivers, suggest seeing it only from the street. It's true that it looks really amazing from outside. But we found it also interesting inside. So do pay a short visit - especially that it won't take you more than half an hour, and there is no additional cost if you have a combined ticket for Jaipur (covering also Fort Amber and Jantar Mantar).

People would tell you that just seeing the Hawa Mahal from the road would be enough.
They're misguiding you ..
This is a monument which has to be seen even after going in.
Preferably, take an audio tour guide here.

The Hawamahal is located near the city palace and is at a walking distance. The multi story Mahal is worth a visit.

This is surely the symbol, main landmark of Jaipur.I cannot tell if it's nicer during the day, or at nighttime when it is illuminated.
It lies in the middle of the main street of Jaipur, with hundreds shops around and vegetable sellers, and it rises magnificently above them.
The interior is not so interesting, but in my opinion it was worth climbing up, to have some really nice and odd photos on this unique facade. Besides, from the top floor is a great view across the city, with it's others landmarks.
