We were recommended this guest house through a British Expats forum and having been in touch with the owner to make our booking we were impressed before we arrived by the helpfulness and the attention to detail. We arrived by taxi from the airport and met the owner, Mr. George. After an initial hello and greeting we went to our lovely suite. The rooms are very clean and neat. The bathroom was clean and practical.
It is possible to order your meals from a selection of menus from local restaurants and have it delivered where you can eat it in the dining room. There is free water, coffee and tea available at any time.
Mr. George went out of his way to make us welcome and feel like we were part of the family. He organised a small taxi tour of the city and negotiated with the driver a sensible price. Half day tour should be about 900 to 1000 rupees.
The guest house is very conveniently situated to walk the 170 steps to St. Thomas Mount where it is possible to get the best views if the city. There are also local shops nearby.
We were very impressed and will definitely go back again.
