Viswaroopa Anchaneya Temple in Nanganallur boasts of 40ft anchaneya Idol standing tall and wide. This temple is a very famous temple but the problem is the place is highly congested and absolutely no car parking is available nearby. Need to park the car elsewhere at the nearby streets and walk down to the temple. It always has a long queue and be prepared to wait in the queue for a long time on weekends and other special days.

I used to visit the Nanganallur Anjaneyar temple, every thursday and saturday, as my house was neaer to the temple. It is one of the best maintained temples that you will see in chennai.

There are lots of famous temples in and around this temple. They are Raghavendirar Temple near the Sri Krishna sweets/ more super market, Sri Guruvayoorappan temple at the end of the street, Hayagreevar temple, Laskshmi narasimhar temple, Raja Rajeshwari temple, Sri Ayyappa Swamy temple, and many more. One can visit all the temples, if they start by 6am in the morning from the Anjaneya temple.

You will never feel hungry as the temples will provide prasadams which is enough for the morning breakfasts. There are lots of shops selling souvenirs like Swamy's framed photos, strings, devotional music cd's and there are few atm's near by as well.

If you are planning to have the breakfast in a good hotel, you can find one near the Guruvayoorappan temple and that is called Saravana Square. You can just walk to the hotel.

The temple is near to the metro or local train station that is Palavanthangal(near to the airport)

May god bless you all

So many temples and shrines to look at my advice is to get a rick shaw and for around 350 rups get him to take you round. You will do all the city ones in a couple of hours.

The minute you enter the temple you can view the lord anjeneya, he is big and huge, the temple is well maintained and open timings are Morning - 5.00 am to 12.00 pm, and Evening - 4.30 pm to 9.00 pm. Do not miss the awesome prasad they give to all devotees, any time you visit the temple. Another important thing is that there isn't any queue or special token system here, even it is crowded you would have a great view swami.
