We had been to this hotel for a day's stay in chennai. It was wonderful. The rooms were neatly ordered and the welcome was really nice. It is a bit costly but the comfort u get is really worth it. The location is suitable for commutation. In the hustle and bustle of the city, once we enter the hotel, we forget we are in the herat of a city. The employees, from higher level to lower level, friendly and the hospitality is nice.

On arrival, I was pretty optimistic about the hotel due the positive reviews. However, my experience was quite different:
Check-In took quite long. Arriving in the room there was dirt in front of the door, pillow cases stained. It took 30 minutes until somebody came to change linnen and clean the room.
The room itself is rather small but nicely decorated, lights are bad.
The pool and its surroundings were rather dirty. It can only be used from 7am to 5pm in winter.
The gym was placed in a normal room, therefore it is rather small and low. Equipment is low-end but ok.
For the second night I asked to be switched to a non-smoking room. Coming back nine hours later I had to wait 15 minutes to get the room key only to find out that the suitcase was not there. I had to wait another 20 minutes to get it.
Overall the hotel is well equipped but not maintained properly. Service is not good. The hotel could do much better if it was managed properly.

I stayed at the Pride Hotel in Chennai and was surprised to note the condition of a fairly new hotel. The marble in my bathroom was cracked. The wallpaper in the room was peeling. The wooden flooring had warped!!! This is supposed to be a relatively new hotel.Really didnt look like and was maintained as a 4* as advertised.

The hotel shares half a building with a hospital as well which i was surprised to see when i was there and would love to know this before i book my hotels.

The staff was good though and service reasonablly good.

New hotel very clean and tidy. Staff extrememly helpful. Breakfast has both english and indian food caters for everyone. We went with my husbands mother and shared an excutive room and had an extra bed in the room. Plenty of room bathroom good size for hotel standards. Cleaned daily. Laundry service very fast and cheap. Good security in rooms (there are safes in the room). Buffet resturant on the roof top - best food we had in India. The view is amazing. You can hear the hustle and bustle but you feel a million miles away. The only possible comment that is not positive is that the swimming pool is outside the 24 hour restaurant and very public we didn't swim there as we did not feel comfortable. Good value for money and certainly would stay again.
