“Close to a home cooked meal”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

Very stylish. one is ushered in by a volunteer and not an employee and hence the experience changes from the word go.
A wee bit expensive for the cuisine.
Limited options - You have a Thali - and that's it, no a la carte.
Sumptuous food, unlimited helpings.

“Not worth for Money”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

There was a heavy hips and hypes about this Hotel and I am waiting to visit the Hotel for a long time, I had a chance to delight my wife on her Birthday, so I booked the Alacarte for 4 on one Tuesday evening (not Weekend).

I am a pure Vegetarian and hunting for Veg restaurants in Chennai and I am eagerly expecting how great the Experience will be, but it not much great, The taste of food was much more average than many restaurants in Chennai but the service was good, the time which they take for serving water or cut-onions tooks a long time.

The food bill amounted Rs. 2500 for 3 members,

We all all had a severe stomachache next day morning which I have never experienced before in any other hi-grade Restaurants.

“A restaurant by classical taste”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Visited Annalakshmi restaurant twice. An elegant place with a classical touch of vegetarian food. Exquisite dinning hall with a feel of dim light. Good place for family gatherings and celebrations. Food is good, presentation and serving is good. People in and out of Chennai make their presence to Annalakshmi due to their quality food and serving. International tourists visiting Chennai should try vegetarian food here. Nice place to eat interesting vegetarian food.

“Satisfying Experience”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Annalakshmi is on the first floor of an office building behind the Air India office(landmark for taxis and autos). There is an a-la-carte restaurant and a buffet spread in a separate room. We tried the buffet and it was very good, starting with soup and then a spread of both South and North Indian dishes with the usual accompaniments of papadams, chutneys etc. Don't forget to ask for one of the drinks ( lemon-mint concoction was cooling) or buttermilk. Staff is friendly and attentive and the price is very reasonable. Dishes a bit spicy so if you have guests who prefer less spice try the a-la-carte restaurant and alert them in advance of your requirements. Booking is essential.

“Great Food served for a good cause”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

Not only what they serve is great, but the cause why they serve is greater. The income from this retstaurant goes for charity, which itself makes this place a star. The food is not the greatest I've ever had, but I really enjoyed the thali and the variety of dosas here.
