The Hotel Retreat- Darjeeling is an exemplary example of a luxurious hotel for business travelers, tourists or for any other people. I stayed there for 4 days in the month of September'2010 with my two friends. There are two super delux room out of a total ten rooms and also a small garden.I had a opportunity to stay at the super delux room. All the rooms are spacy and so comfortable.Different types of Magazines and news paper available. We enjoyed the scenery of mountain K2 from the hotel. We enjoyed some tastefull food at the hotel. All the staffs of the hotel are so good.We emjoyed a good night sleep and woke up feeling refreshed.Next time if I go to Darjeeling I shall must stay at that Hotel.

we always stay at the retreat...when in darjeeling. it offers the best view...splendid balcony, an ample-breakfast, ever-smiling, very obliging staff...especially, mr. debi-prasad sarkar, the manager...24hrs hot & cold water, spacious rooms, if u choose 411 & 421....karma, the chef is an absolute wizard wth his chicken-roast, shahi-tukra, soups. rooms, wash-rooms are very clean. any problem we faced, was immediately looked into . we have been to the retreat, at leaste 4times. every vacation there was a treat...in every sense of the word. it's a home away from home...walking-distance from the mall. it's safe, secure, very comfortable, with astonishing views of the kanchunzongha ...all in all, i'd say, it's your best bet in darjeeling.......LONG, LOOOONG BE MY HEART WITH SUCH MEMORIES FILLED, LIKE THE VASE IN WHICH ROSES HAD ONCE BEEN DISTILL'D. YOU MAY BREAK, U MAY SHATTER THE VASE IF YOU WILL. BUT THE SCENT OF THE ROSES, HANG AROUND IT STILL !!

The Retreat in Darjeeling was a great disappointment. There was no one at the reception most of the time. The rooms were small and dinghy. Service was almost non-existant and food very oily. The saving grace were an eager and smiling staff as and when we saw them. The much publicised views were disappointing too. All in all, not recommended.

The hotel has one thing – its location... You get the view of Kanchenjunga range from your room, This is also close to the mall.
Less say about others things is better. Food (read Cooking) is really bad.
Hotel manager is very cooperative.

The hotel has very quite and calm surroundings. The room was very comfortable with a spacious balcony to enjoy morning tea and the bathroom had a bathtub too. The room had an excellent view of the Kanchanjangha mountain range and the valley below. The hotel has a nice reastaurant with good food. The hotel staff is helpful. The hotel is very good for couples going for their honeymoon.
