As Kurseong is not really a tourist destination, people tend to bypass it heading heading to Darjeeling or the other way to Silliguri. There are not so many quality options for accommodation or restaurants. However you will find Amarjeet to be clean, friendly and centrally located, some rooms having stunning views at the back of the Hotel, the reception is in the restaurant, which is not ideal, however the staff attend to guests quickly.
The food is okay, the restaurant has a really fantastic reputation and is always busy, The food was nice but nothing wonderful.
Do take the time out to visit Kurseong it’s such a fantastic little town, I have spent long periods here the past two years and cannot praise it enough, there are very few tourists around, so you really get the best from this authentic little place and are given the warmest of welcomes from the beautiful local residents. You are surrounded by tea gardens, most of which offer daily tours. If you enjoy walking Kurseong is a great place to be, the walk up to Chimney is breathtaking passing through many tiny little villages along the way. Hotel Amarjeet is just down the road from the quaint Kurseong railway station where the toy train leaves from each day, it’s a really enjoyable trip, which will take you 2.5 hours. It’s one of the best ways to see the Darjeeling region.
