BEST LOCATION. So close to the Mall and yet, so far away from the crowd....clean rooms, good food-although more options available close by....this hotel makes your vacation complete....very cooperative staff as well....thanks.

Dainty old style property with clean rooms. Our room was in 2 floors, with the bathroom below and a nice and cozy fire place and living room also along with. The bed room above was spacious. Very well located, centrally in the middle of Darjeeling.

I was part of a Group of 18 relatives between 10 years and 70 years who stayed here for a day. The place reminded us of our childhood when we stayed in hotels with ambience that still exists in this hotel. Best part of the hotel is its closeness to Mall and the personal care taken by Mr. Pradhan to ensure our smallest needs are attended to. This personal attention and care was appreciated by both young and old. The food was excellent, the service was timely (Mr. Pradhan was up and supervising his team personally at 6 am in the morning to provide us hot packed breakfast ). Bed linen were clean and bathrooms were large and well maintained. The only issue was carpets which were pretty old and if these are changed the experience could have been even better. However the hotel is value for money.

Room Tip: Room no 8 and 9 and above them would provide better light and are nearer to the canteen hall.

This hotel does not have a view of the mountains, but is really close to the mall. The room that we stayed was a duplex with the bedroom on top and a nice comfortable drawing room with a fireplace at the bottom. The food and service was average, but the owners were very amiable persons and very friendly.

we stayed in this hotel in the rainy seasons of july....as it was off season we got the room at discounted price....we stayed in a room with a double bed and an extra bed...we paid a meagre 1100 rs per day....the room was cozy....it had a British touch....but as it was an old property it was some what damp...you can also blame it on the weather......what i specially liked about the room was that it came with an impressive storage space which you can use for dressing up also...and also the bathroom was large and clean.....during our stay we had food in the hotel itself....the food is homely and tasty...a lil pricey though....the stuff was also well behaved and helpful....and not to forget about its location...just down the mall road...where u can reach in 2 mins....only thing is i wished there was light on that road....and many a times we found couples having a cozy chat down the road.....well anyways as long as it is safe i could not complain.......

if i had to go back again to Darjeeling...i would definitely stay in this hotel....

Room Tip: rooms with balcony facing the road..

Alice Villa, located beside the much-hyped about The Elgin and near the mall,is one of the biggest hotels in the town and probably the best value-for-money hotel. The biggest plus-point of the hotel is the hospitality and the cordiality of the staff and the hotel owner,Mr.Pradhan.The fact that tall figures such as Anjan Dutta and Satyajit Ray graced the hotel just adds to the experience. The hotel staff are always eager to help.We went to some nearby places and they arranged for cars just as we told them our interests. We stayed in two different rooms and both were good. They were clean and big.The bath rooms are quite good and suits both domestic and international travellers. The rooms have multiple rooms and therefore perfect for those travelling with families and friends. This hotel is one of the few hotels which have a 24 hrs water supply. As for the food,we just had one night's dinner and it was good and satisfactory.I would recommend this hotel to those travelling with their families and budget travellers(both domestic and international).
