The Hotel Rooms are Good, we stayed in Super Delux, which was spacious, other rooms are bit cramped ! . The Hotel does not have Kitchen, so no Lunch or Dinner. They do have 2/3 good/cheap restaurants adjacent to it.

It's proximity to Chowrasta/Mall Road, is a Plus point, also the caretaker / staff is also very well behaved and helpful. They arranged for parking my 2 wheeler at their personal garage.

However, it's tough to find this place as approach roads are quite narrow and Steep !! (Refer to the Pictures attached)

They do not have Room Heaters / Blowers even in This Winter !!!!, but they provided us with 4 Blankets & an Electric Blanket which was a life saver !!! .

No issue of Hot water, Rooms was neat & Clean, Washroom was also kept tidy/dry. Lenin was clean and free of any Smells.

In all, a Decent place for Budget Travelers and for who don't mind taking Lunch/Dinner outside :)

My wife and I stayed at Magnolia Residency hotel , after a long trip to get their .

We were greeted with a smile by Mr. Shaymo and checked in quickly .

From the minute we set foot in the hotel we were made to feel extremely welcome

The hotel is in a great location and the view from the roof is fantastic .

The rooms were spacious and clean .

All staff was very helpful and courteous friendly, and made the extra effort to learn our names, so we were greeted every morning for a wonderful breakfast with a smile .

Booking tours was easy as Mr Shaymo was helpful and very informative. Just a pleasant process.

Enjoyed having a cup off Ginger tea with the staff and sharing information about giving tips on what to do in Darjeeling.

This was my first stop in Darjeeling and I would definitely consider staying here again. I cannot praise this hotel enough.

Job well done. thank you very much.

Keep smiling .

Unfortuantly our train from Varanasi was 7 hours late when arriving into NJP which therefore meant we arrived to Darjeeling after midnight. As everything was shut and it was pitch dark we took a while to find Magnolia but when we did eveything was shut up so we had to bang on the door and keep phoning the hotel(we could hear the staff chatting on the roof terrace so we knew someone was awake) until finally after half an hour somone came and opened up to let us in. They then struggled to find our reservation but eventually they did and we got our room. Not a great start but the room was clean and the bed comfy and warm so we were happy. Next morning they bought us tea to the room which was nice. However then at 8am they phoned our room to say breakfast was on the table waiting for us, and they meant it literally!! When we got down we had a fried egg on toast and a cup of tea waiting on a table getting cold....this may sound a bit fussy but i soon realised that everyone else in the room was ordering their breakfast from a menu and were given a choice and ours was just sat on the table with no other option- very disappointed since i was really looking forward to a nepalese breakfast and not being given what they think i want. It wasnt horrible but it was pretty disappointing to say the least. All in all the stay was ok but there are plenty of other options.

Don't be put off by what the Magnolia looks like from the street. Once inside, the place is welcoming, comfortable, colourful and clean. Enjoy the charming little roof-top terrace (with magnificent mountain and valley views when it's clear), and the great breakfasts (supplied by arrangement with Sonam's Kitchen across the street). OK, the rooms are smallish, and most don't have views; they're perfectly functional, but don't expect luxury—no 4 or 5 star trimmings! But the location is excellent, just 2 minutes' walk up from Chowrasta Mall. And best of all is the helpful and caring attitude of the staff. Our visit coincided with a serious 72-hour strike in Darjeeling, and the Magnolia folk went out of their way to ensure that we were well looked after in very difficult circumstances.

I just came back from a 2 nights stay at the Magnolia Residency. The rooms we were provided did not have any view but for a tin roof of a house accross the road. It really did not matter as the time of the year did not promise much view from anywhere. The rooms were small albeit clean and neatly done. The bathrooms were clean and all necessities were provided.

The only hitch we felt was that no lunch or dinner is served. This can be a trouble when there are heavy rains or extreme cold and most of the shops around shut down pretty early and one has to go all the way down to Shangri-la or Glenary's for dinner.

That apart it was a nice and cozy stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors will have a view on a clearer day. Corner rooms are bigger.

based on its #2 bnb review in darjeeling we booked a few nights at magnolia, a stay we couldn't prolongue past the first night. pro: excellent breakfast served on the terrace. cons: the double deluxe room was tiny, bedsheets dirty, the bathroom albeit clean smelled of a strong chemical solution, there was no proper shower but rather a shower head sticking out of the wall next to the toilet, very noisy, damp sheets and towels (even though this is probably an issue in most places due to the weather). too expensive for what you get - even in high season. would not stay there again.
