The best of its kind experienced so far. A long, slow ride over the tea gardens at a very nominal rate. Awesome in terms of the path traveled..seemed like you can touch the tea plantations. Enjoyed every drop of time spent on the ropeway at an ideal slow pace.

When we visited the ropeway, it was cloudy weather. It seemed like we were travelling through clouds. You can see the tea gardens beneath. Its about 30 mins for one way. Overall, a nice experience.

The Ropeway being the oldest in India, startled us as it set off with a swing and jerk. But as it settled, so did we, to enjoy the lush greenery of the tea gardens below us. The emergency notice was torn so we would not know what to do in case of one, but luckily we had nothing to fear because we made it back and forth with no mishap and enjoyed the scenic beauty around us.

The ropeway travels over tea gardens and gives a view of the Kanchenjunga. Each cabin can accommodate a maximum of six persons and is well maintained. The tickets are for a to and fro ride that can be split at the lower end.
However, their isn't much of interest at the lower end and the ride can be continued back without a stop over.
Depending on the time of the year, the queue's can get really long taking upward of an hour to get your turn - so plan accordingly.
