The HMI is probably one of the best maintained museums in India. A must visit for everyone remotely associated with mountains. Everything from the spacious layout, the labelling the porch, is worth appreciating. The display of mountaineering gear used over the years is an eye opener. There are quite a few spots for photography. The statue of Tenzing and the spot where his funeral pyre was lit makes one emotional. The souvenir shops and restaurants too are well stocked.
