The HMI as it is called is very worthwhile even if you didn't dream of climbing mountains in your life. For us in the West it was a change of promotion to notice that Tenzing Norgay was listed as an equal to Hillary on the first climb of Everest Vs. Hillary and "oh by the way there was another guy". Just the topographical displays of the Himalayas was very worthwhile to see because you can appreciate how those mountains restrict some of the geopolitical problems of the region. It would have been interesting to participate in a lecture by one of the experienced mountaineers who work at HMI but it was a worthwhile visit without it. Going through the Himalayan Animal Park as part of the HMI experience was a 2:1 value too. At least they restricted the animals to those from the region and are researching with the animals to help protect others of the same species.
