Review of The Dhaba

The Dhaba
Ranked #307 of 4,242 Restaurants in Kolkata (Calcutta)
Cuisines: Indian
Description: Cuisine - Punjabi, Chinese, Moghlai Price -moderate Worst Dhaba food one can ever had. Old Glory is long forgotten where long queues use to await outside. New facelift and old chef gone.. Amazingly, in a gastro-connoisseur city like Kolkata, its still in business. Advise to stay away. Both of us got sick after eating there.

For the food it serves, it surely is a great joint, and you have a choice of both airconditioned and non-AC accommodation, which also sets the pricing of the food. There is a separate take-away facility, and service is rather speedy. Didn't find the earlier option of sitting on the roof deck - most probably a result of increase in pollution in the area.

Food was pathetic. Pls dont waste ur money going to this restaurant.
Location and ambiance is good. But the staff is not trained well. The food tastes pathetic and the price is comparatively very high

While studying in South Point School till I passed out, this place was one where we frequented regularly. With friends, family, I have been there so many times in the past. But sadly, they have been unable to keep up with times.

Location : Terrific, as because its bang at the Ballygunge Phanri Crossing. Car parking in front is a bit of a job there though.

Food : Mostly too oily these days with their trademark Biriyani tasting pretty ordinary and bland.

Price : Cheap for the amount they provide.

Overall a place you can avoid to keep healthy.

The food is very oily and spicy. After the dinner, you would be lucky if you did not fall sick the next day. They serve punjabi cuisine and most dishes are routine stuff at a high price. Tables are places too near each other and the person sitting on the next table is almost staring at your food.
