Being a Calcuttan, one does tend to look upon such tours with a certain disdain. After all who can tell us more about our own city than us? I had gone into this tour with a similar feeling, especially as we would be traversing through areas known to me. However, on embarking on the tour I found familiar places sporting a new hue, as Manjit started unspooling hidden stories about each place. There were stories hidden in nooks and corners which one could easily overlook. I must admit he removed a patina of familiarity to an old city hand. Taking us at an easy going pace he covered a lot of ground. More specifically took us to areas which would yield some very interesting photo ops. Yet the walk was not overburdened by information. Manjit is an excellent walk host. Highly recommended.

We found the tours a truly unique way to experience this historic and cultural city. Manjit led us through 2 tours and provided interesting stories and insights with passion and enthusiasm. It was like being shown around by a friend and we're still in touch with Manjit months later!

As part of the tours we did a heritage walk and visited the flower markets. Manjit took photos himself and pointed out great picture opportunities which helped us to feel confident in snapping portraits of locals people going about daily life. With Manjit as our guide we experienced more of day to day life in kolkata than we otherwise would have. This alone was a valuable experience.

This tour would suit photographers and non photographers alike. Go along for the stories and the unique perspective of kolkata from a passionate and enthusiastic guide. Thanks again Manjit for the special experience. We would recommend the tours to anyone visiting amazing India!

Were you ever amazed by a food court ? So many cultures and cuisines right next to each other ? Well this tour is sort of like that - just 10,000 times better. The sights and sound change every 15 minutes, drastically. From Chinese temples, to a UP Bihar settlement, from a Ango-Indians well sorted community to the hulchul of a chinese market, from Bollywood inspired churches to Snagogues that look they were used just yesterday. This trip can just about be a culture overdose, if not for Manjits timely anecdotes and witty comments. Forget the sandesh and the chum-chum, get off your bum and walk this walk.
And oh, this was the first time a saw a parsee fire temple and a age khan place of worship bang opposite to each other - the east west fund you see. Ask Manjit for more details.

I did the Culture Kaleidoscope tour with Manjit and I really can't recommend the experience highly enough.

Manjit is a consumate story teller and unfolded the history of Calcutta in front of me. I felt I had been given a real insight into the lives of the people of Calcutta and was privileged to walk his streets with him.

I was gently guided towards the best vantage points and suggested views but also given the freedom to go off and poke around myself. Manjit has the gift of enthusiasm and his unbounded energy ensured that the tour felt fresh and almost impromptu although it is clearly far from that.

I'll be back in December and am already looking forward to another walk with Manjit.
