“A Mesmerizing Experience..!!!!!!!”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

We have been to this place to spend our weekend. The Rajbari is huge. At the entrance there is a huge garden which is very well maintained. We stayed in a ChotoBoudi Ghor, which is very beautiful. It has old rustic furniture, antics etc. Food is extra ordinary simple bengali cusine yet delicious. the portions are huge. At a time you feel like give up but the simplicity and taste in food will make you continue. Don't expect any other cusines. The staffs were really humble and helpful. Everyday you woke with a melodious sound of flute. The place is quite warm and peaceful. the Rooms are on a higher side in terms of Tariff but its a different experience after all..!!!!! You pay for what you get.. Only a CON is there is no mobile connectivity..!!!!!!

Overall it is a lovely place to visit for weekend from the hustle bustle of City life.

Room Tip: Take Rooms like Choto Boudi Ghor which is on fist floor. Basically Any Room on first Floor si very g...

The experience was much different from our expectations. Not at all like any other resorts we are used to these days. It takes you back to the historical fiery days of Borgees. Kundans ruled Bengal for long as in history and this royal palace was one of the Kundans or Kundus. There are so many colloquials on the Borgees. Getting the chance of spending a night at their palace, sleeping on their 'palonko' (royal bed), using their wooden dining extravaganza - all total was a breath taking experience. The tariff was a bit on the higher side, yet it was worth the experience offered. Food was very fresh and tasty. Cook to be specially appreciated for preparing all what we wanted in a typical Bengali cuisino style.

Room Tip: You can choose to stay at 'Choto babu's room on the 3rd floor. Gives a grand view of the sur...

Hi, I have recently visited this old Raaj Bari(King's Palace) built in 196 with my parents. It is around 120-30 kms from Kolkata and a very peaceful place to spend a weekend. The rooms are clean and big enough. We have stayed in Choto Boudi's room. It is quite spaciuous as well as bathroom is very big and very clean as well. The staffs are really cordial and happy to help with anything with a smiling face. They have called us day before the arrival date and confirmed regarding what we would like to have in the lunch. The food is really great with a homely touch. The music of flute is awesome as well as discovering the different parts of the raaj bari is really exciting.

Room Tip: Any room on the first floor is very good.

We visited this place couple of months back. It was a different experience altogether. It was like living in the past. Itachuna will surely give you a glipmse of the Jamindar culture of bengal. The property is well maintained to accomodate tourists. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food was also above average. Recommended for a short weekend tour. You will definitely have a different time!!!...

I would suggest everyone to stay overnight in this place. We went in a group by car directly from Kolkata. I found there website very helpful for getting contact numbers, room charges, food menu details and driving directions. We booked three non AC rooms and they came out to be the place where Ranvir Singh used to stay in the bollywood movie 'Lootera'.
Non AC rooms were very basic and not recommended during very hot summer days. All these three rooms are quite large triple bedded with nice simple decor. I had to pay our room charges in advance. Other than that they take tax extra after arrival and fooding separate. Good bengali foods are served in a 'jamindari' style. Mutton thali is highly recommended.
In the evening few locals come and perform Bengali musical programme which was a nice surprise to us. We did not realize for long time that live performances were going on outside our room. Another guy was playing flute sitting at one of darkest corner of the house and we could only hear the music. Late night adda session with supernatural stories could definitely add an extra charm only if everyone is comfortable enough. They have carrom, TT and dart as free timepass options. We tried kite flying also-all the accessories were provided by them for minimal charges. Every stuff was soft spoken and helpful. Overall we has a nice experience.

Its all about the ambience of the place .... mostly when u wake up with the music of a flute flowing through your ears to soul.I met with the persone tried to jamm with him with my guitar and I felt awesome...Dont expect a party kind of flavor from this place. Its a very good long drive from Kolkata only in a few places the road condition is terrible and u need to be a bit cautious when u entered the village..
