“Vintage architecture in Recife”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Recife antigo is worth visiting especially for those who like architecture from old times. There you can admire constructions of different languages and times such as neoclassical,, ecletic, etc.

“You never know”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

The Old Recife is a small area with some old-style buildings. You never know what you are going to see and how you are going to see. Each time you go is different, some times is very nice and lively and sometimes is horrible. In the good periods it is full of stores and bars where you can walk and eat something. In the bad periods the buildings are not well preserved and the streets are empty. At night it can be full of people and you can even see frevo shows and other cultural activities. You will find some small museums as well.

“You have to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

It's a place where that shows the historical part of that city. It's worthwhile to visit it. There are museums, handicraft, arts, bars, restaurants and a beautiful view of the port of Recife and of the sea, including its reefs. Recife Antigo is a island and is near to the centre of the city. You can enjoy it by car, walking and by bikes (there are bike rental at varios point of the city). The Marco Zero is located in Recife Antigo and from there you can visit the neighbor city of Olinda, the capital of the Frevo (a pitoresc folk dance of Pernambuco, Brasil). In February/March, Recife Antigo is crowded because of Carnival, a great experience to every people.

“Great place to experience Pernambuco culture”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2014

A beautiful historic area that is the setting for the ferinha de Recife Antigo on Sunday nights. We went on a night of precarnaval, and it was one of the best pieces of night life we encountered in Brazil. There was music and culture everywhere; hip hop, break dancing, forró, funk, axé, frevo, and much more! There were carnaval blocos in the streets everywhere. People dancing and singing- everybody was SO happy! The entire area was filled with music and cheap latão of Skol, caipirinhas, and great street food (acarajé and macaxeira YUM!). Such a great night words can't describe it, GO!

“Nice area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

I recommend the visit of this place. You can go with public transport (around 20min from Boa Viagem) and you can see some old buildings, an island with outdoor exhibition and the Marco Zero.
Go there!
