“Pleasant stopover en route to the coast”
Reviewed 29 November 2009

We spent one night here while heading to Destin. The hotel is set back from the road, so the room was quiet. There are several chain restaurants within a short drive or you can walk to Applebee's or Shoney's right in front of the hotel. The indoor swimming pool and hot tub were clean and there were towels conveniently placed on each table in the pool area. The room included a fridge and microwave and flat panel TV (I didn't come across any channels that appeared to be in HD). I was easily able to connect my iPhone to the free wireless Internet. We are anxious to get down the road in the morning, so we skipped the $9/person breakfast.

We planned an overnight at this hotel and were disappointed by the failure of the air conditioning to overcome an early summer heat wave. The a/c dribbled out at a low level which could not cool the room well enough even during the overnight hours. The air came out fairly cool but the lack of a strong push made it impossible to make the room comfortable. This seemed to be a flaw in the hotel rather than only affecting one room. We also had issues with the cleanliness of our room. Definitely not up to usual Courtyard standards.

Very clean, quiet. I liked that there were no dirty bedspreads. Instead, each bed had a clean, white blanket cover, replaced after each guest,. Breakfast (full buffet) is an additional charge, but worth the price for the convenience. Rooms were less expensive than at the Hampton Inn, where we had a terrible experience.

I spent one night at this hotel on my way to Destin, Florida. From the initial check in until my departure, everyone went out of their way to make sure everything went well. The hotel is clean and about what you would expect from a Courtyard, but the staff was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay if traveling through Dothan. The staff at this hotel appreciate your business.

We stayed at the Dothan Courtyard for three nights. We were using it as a base to visit family in the area and it was very good for that. The location is very convenient, with a market in another plaza that's connected to the Marriott's. In fact, using that plaza makes coming and going from the hotel a bit easier as you can go through the main intersection and turn into it rather than fight traffic to use the hotel's main entrance.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My only concerns were minor. The elevator was slow which is inconvenient but not awful. The parking situation was also not great as we were forced to park on an upper level of the lot each night rather than near the entrance. All in all though those are small complaints that didn't hurt my rating.

We arrived at the courtyard because our original reservations were for next door at the Fairfeild. The Fairfeilds room was not ready and the pool was closed. We had driven 12 hours through the night with 2 small children and were exhausted! The reason for the trip was last minute due to a severe family emergency. The clerk at the Fairfeild was extremly sympathetic and called over to the CourtYard antd they accomodated us immediatly. The clerks at the court yard had already been alerted to our situation and was extremely accomodating as well. We were close to the hospital and were able to use the lobby as our living room when family members leaving the hospital could come and visit with us. The clerks were so freindly and warm hearted to our situation. They were even campasionate to the location of our room knowing our children would want to use the pool. I truly felt at home! So a big thumbs up for both staff members at each hotel!!!! I can't say enough good about them!!!!
The rooms were clean and the breakfast was great and the coffee was wonderful!

  • Liked — The laundry room was very clean. Teh pool was well stocked with towels. The cofee in the lobby
  • Disliked — I thought the Hot tub could have been a little cleaner. I noticed some mold ournd the top.

Great place to stay. Nice, large rooms, indoor pool, breakfast restaurant. Not a 5 star hotel, but very nice. I also felt very safe.
