This is a closed property and is on the market.

I would have loved to have had a look inside this beautiful property, however, I don't think this is possible.

I do hope that this historical property will be sold to someone, who will take care of this place.

We were looking for a romantic and unique place to stay the weekend and close to shopping area to do some Christmas shopping. Found this place searching for bed and breakfast in Foley, AL. Viewed their YouTube video and called. Spoke to Becca, who was so very nice and friendly on the phone. She made our reservation and also greeted us when we arrived.

The pride of ownership was apparent from the outside with all of the Christmas lights and decorations! We arrived after dark and the curb appeal of this place at Christmas time was incredible!

Upon entering, we met Becca! She gave us a tour of several rooms and the property! She told us about the restaurant on the phone and guided us there since it was only 1 hour before closing. The adjacent restaurant was great! The lighting, the silverware, the food! All amazing!

We wound up staying in the Bridal Suit # 10! it was the most expensive, but we couldn't resist the conopy bed, spacious room, beautiful antique furnishings and whirlpool tub! $185 per night, but exactly what we were looking for. They have other rooms for $100 and $135, but we decided to splurge.

Love the wrap around balcony and porch area, the chandeliers, the rich history, the antique furnishings and just the entire feel of this place!

I can't say enough good things about this place and Becca! You would think she owns the place with the level of care and attention she shows! Her hospitality is the highest standard I've experienced!

Love trip advisor and hope you find this review to be helpful and accurate! We'll be back and recommend this place to couples we know looking for something cozy and romantic!

My husband and I stayed at The Magnolia Hotel in June, 2010 while on a weekend get-away. The Magnolia is a wonderful old hotel which has been renovated several times. It has beautiful chandeliers, elegantly decorated guest rooms, small pool, restaurant, beautiful wooden staircases, large paintings, and a lot of southern charm and history. There are different prices for different rooms, but most of the rooms have queen-size beds; however, the rooms have large furniture and are crowded, except for the bridal suites. Our first room on the second floor had a terrible tilt to it, so we had to move to another room downstairs because my vertigo would not allow me to stay in the first room. We were moved downstairs to a second room which was more level, but the room was still crowded. You shower in clawed tubs with shower curtains hanging inside the tubs all around you. A full delicious breakfast comes with the room for the guests and you are served in the downstairs small dining area full of charm. The Magnolia is situated right on the main highway running through Foley, where you can sit out on the veranda on the first or second floor and watch the traffic go by; however, I would advise requesting a room on the back side of the hotel so you don't hear traffic noise during the night. A very nice grand old hotel but I prefer a guest room with more space.

Room Tip: Ask for a guest room on the back side of the hotel so you don't hear traffic noise all night.

My husband and I recently stayed here for a family event in the area. The hotel has been around since the late 1800s, early 1900s, but has been beautifully renovated. Located in downtown Foley, AL, across from the park, it's a short drive to the outlets or beyond that to Gulf Shores. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel at home. There's a menu where you may choose your complimentary homemade breakfast you'd like for the next morning which will be ready for you at the time you specify and served in the dining room at a beautifully laid antique table.

The hotel also has a wonderful restaurant and the menu is available at the hotel's web site, which also provides photos of each room. http://thehotelmagnolia.com/ This web site provides information about the hotel and also about the local area.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are very small, which you can't tell in the photographs of the rooms on the we...

It was a wonderful respite after conducting business in Mobile, AL. I'd never been to Gulf Shores and this historic hotel was less than an hour drive and near the white sand beaches. The hotel has been restored with modern conveniences but retains its character and antique charm. I sat in a rocker on the large veranda overlooking a beautiful park while sipping wine & working on my laptop with the free wifi. For dinner, a short drive to Ocean Blvd. allowed me to enjoy a sunset and fresh shrimp dinner. The next morning, a custom-made breakfast was included with glassware & china plates....all for less than most chain hotels.
