We looked up many hotels before our stay, and we pleased to find this hotel for almost $100 cheaper a night than the other hotels. It was in an excellent location right off of 59 where EVERYTHING (including Lamberts across the street) is located. The rooms were very clean and the staff pleasant. The only complaint we could think of was that when we asked for more pillows they claimed that they were out.
his would be a great place to stay if you are a family on a budget and are tight on money.

We had two families traveling together from Texas to Florida and back. We decided to spend a day in Foley/Gulf Shores so we could eat at Lambert's, check out the beach, and work in an extra vacation day on our way home. We chose Cornerstone Lodge because of it's location across from Lambert's and the coupon in the Alabama travel guide. They didn't actually have any of the $49 rooms in the coupon book, but any other room was only $59. That's a good price for the area for sure, but we wished we had invested a few more dollars and gotten a cleaner motel.
There were some positives about the place: friendly front desk, nice clean pool, and indoor laundry room. Also, the exterior of the hotel is lovely and well- kept.
However, the room wasn't very clean- nasty unclean toilet bowl, huge clumps of hair in the bathroom closet and sink, sizable mold growing behind the bathroom door (all things I could possibly overlook) and worst of all a couple of ROACHES. The bugs are most likely the result of the apartment like atmosphere of the hotel, but added to the lack of attention to other cleanliness details I don't think I could ever return to this location or recommend it to a friend. There are state park cabins nearby that would have to be just as good if your are staying for several days and several other hotels that are just 20 or 30 a night more in the area.

Our room was filthly. Nothing had been done to the room since the last people checked out except the sheets had been changed (I hope). We went to the front desk to ask for help, but they had just closed at 8pm. The next morning we spoke with the manager. He said they did not have a satisfaction guarantee, so there would be no refund. The best he could do is offer a different room. We reluctantly accepted and went to Walmart to get some cleaning supplies. What a way to start a vacation!

I stayed a week. Very clean, staff was very nice/helpful, great location- 15 mins. from the beach, definitely worth the $53 a night. I WILL DEFINITELY stay again and again!

The only thing that would have made it better is wifi!

My family and I stayed here during spring break this year. With the tough economic times, we still wanted to go to the beach, but could not afford beach prices. My co-worker had stayed at the Cornerstone Lodge on business a few months prior and loved the place. Our room had a small kitchen with microwave, two-burner stove and small fridge. We ate cereal in the mornings, and enough room in the fridge for sandwich meat, hot dogs, eggs, milk, Coke and all the trimmings. The hotel had just installed WI-FI and we were even able to check our email in the guest lounge. The room was clean and we only paid $49 per night. We found out that they have weekly rates which would have cost $249 for the entire week. We even met one of the owners as he was weed eating and cutting the grass. He had filled us in on all the great attractions in the area and told us to be sure to hit the outlet mall across the street. The staff was friendly, the pool was open but a bit chilly and the beach was only 10 minutes away. We also found an amusement park that we had no idea existed, just 5 minutes away. As we were leaving we heard of a place called the Wharf that we will check out this summer. We will definitely stay again and will recommend to all of our family and friends. I love finding diamonds in the rough like this hotel, it might be the best kept secret in the area!
