We visited the park to hike so that we could get away from the crowd and get some exercise. It was pretty and the trails were kept up with however you will be walking on a gravel/sand trail the entire time so it is not much of a challenge. The scenery is nice though and there are some nice overlooks.

Thank Sara L

The trail to gator lake was not worth the hike . Met a family on the way that had to turn back. Half our group went back to car.

Taking the Pine Beach Trail to the beach is one of my favorite things to do while in Gulf Shores. It's relatively empty of other people as most folks like to drive up and park close to the beach to easily haul stuff to the sand and avoid the long, sweaty walk along Pine Beach Trail. We love it, however, and do it every time we're in the Gulf (and promptly jump in to the water as soon as we get to the end). Wear sunscreen and bug spray. Think about taking binoculars, I never remember and always wish I had them. There's an observation tower about halfway in that offers some shade and breeze and a good position for looking out for gators, cranes, and other wildlife.

My husband and I hked the Pine Beach trail. It was hot and the bugs were terrible, but it was so worth it. Next time I will bring bug spray. Seeing the ocean without any condos or houses around is awesome.
