Plantation Palms at Gulf Shores Plantation
Reviewed 22 August 2013

We stayed in a one bedroom condo for four days with our three children. The condo was nicely equipped and was in a nice location. The location was about 12 miles out of town. The beach area was lengthy and they had several pools on the property along with a tennis court, basketball, golf course (Kiva Dunes), among several other things to do. The beach is beautiful along with the dunes. The location is perfect for seeing various types of naval jet/planes/choppers. Would probably return. Very difficult to get a hold of people for different service/maint. was our only problem.

This is a decent place to stay if you do not plan on leaving the property, it's very secluded from the other towns, with the weather being very cool, we were forced to leave the property daily to find family fun activities around the area. The unit wasn't really in good condition, in the past I have stayed at the All Suites West in downtown Gulf Shores and thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent there. The dishwasher was barely installed correctly, we had to keep a hip on it to keep it from falling out of it's place, the sliding glass door handle was broken and my daughter cut her hand on it. Sleeping rooms were OK--bed was very hard. I will not come back to Plantation Palms; we rented Unit 6606 from Brett Robinson. We were only issued 1 room key, which turned out to be quite an inconvenience since my husband and I were leaving at different times, also was not issued the key for the indoor pool and was not even informed of the amenities at the property until one of the other guests mentioned it at the beach. It was nice that the company ran out the key though after I told them that we were just in the area and didn't plan on leaving again to pick up the key. Even though check-out stated it was 10 AM, the cleaning lady arrived at 9:05 and literally sat and waited outside our door until we vacated the room. We felt rushed to leave with her just waiting there. I also thought it was very rude to be called on vacation and asked if they could show the property while we were there. We were getting married that day and I told them no that they could not show it because were were getting ready for our ceremony, but apparently someone came in the next day and we were not even warned about it, just knew that someone was there when the business card was left on the counter. The hot tub outside was broken for 2 days also. We did use the indoor swimming pool and hot tub though on one night of our stay, it was very nice--but crowded.

The pools are great and the condo we stayed in was perfect with a gorgeous view of the beach. Loved the beach area and took lots of pictures. Plus it's also not crazy expensive, either. Will go back again!
