We stayed during the Hangout Music Fest, management was great, thank you Lisa for all your help. This weekend was rowdy( and we were warned before we stayed) but things were coming over the balcony and the baby pool is right below, something fell on my son's tube!! The elevators are absolutely insane and the only ones to blame are the owners!!!! They are not approving the increase to have more elevators put in! During our check out, which is very hectic to get your cart in an elevator an owner had the nerve to fill one of the elevators with old mattresses and was cleaning out their condo. So good property, good management, crappy owners!!!!!!!!

We had an overall terrific experience at Seawind! Our condo was gorgeous, completely clean, seemed professionally decorated and very high end. Amazing balcony and very comfy furniture outside and in.

We visited during the end of spring break and really didn't hear much noise besides the chairs above us scraping on the floor every so often. Being in a corner unit helped. Elevators are slow (we had to make a game of it with the kids, or they'd go crazy waiting!), but we managed. Also, the garbage trucks came around 4:15 a.m. almost every morning and woke all of us up in spite of having white noise machines in every room. They were exceedingly loud and it was a tough way to start the day.

The kiddie pool was perfect for my kids, but freezing, so they just played around the perimeter. The other pool is small and was filled with intoxicated college students acting inappropriately. BUT the beaches were incredible, so we spent our time there.

For the price, our unit was head and shoulders nicer than other places we've stayed during our 3 previous trips to Gulf Shores. We'll be back -- but will probably stick to this specific unit.

Room Tip: *Shop right away for toilet paper, detergent, etc.

The room was nice and well decorated, comfortable. The kids loved the bunk beds and having their own tv. Close to shops and eats. The one drawback was the elevators. Why would you build a condo this size and this nice and only put two slow elevators in it? The kids pool is nice but small.

Perfect location, great view, and a very nice condo. The elevators were nasty and are in dire need of a good cleaning, new floor, and a scrubbing. Overall a good place to stay. Easy check in and check out. On site security provided.

My family of eight got to gulf shores aug.15th and are still here... Writing because Cant believe how negative the other comments are. We are staying in condo 1208 and it is perfect. Was worried about the loft with bunk beds being to small but it is a perfect size for 4 kids to just sleep in and they even had their own little flat screen. Was also worried about condo being around 1200 sq ft but it was plenty big for as much time as we spent inside the condo.

Parking spots are small but people fail to mention that there is parking beside the parking garage...there are 2 parking lots on both side of the condo where the parking spaces are plenty big. Yes the pools are small but there are 3 to choose from and like other ppl have said the gulf is 5 mins away. Overall we are enjoying our vacation and can't believe how negative the other people on here have been.

We stayed in unit 804 (Aug 2 - 9) which had the extra large balcony which was very nice. The condo was decorated beautifully and furniture was mostly in good shape (one kitchen chair was pretty wobbly). The master bedroom mattress was saggy and worn and made for uncomfortable sleeping all week. Carpets had stains and just kind of an overall dingy look to them, but honestly I kind of expect that in a condo rental because it is hard to keep them pristine.

Kitchen was well stocked. I was surprised we weren't given any extra toilet paper and no dish soap (we were given 4 dishwasher pods) and only 2 trash can liners for the kitchen trash. Wish I had known I would have brought my own (owner told me they would provide starter dishwasher detergent and dish soap). I jumped in the shower when we arrived and was disgusted to find the mbdrm shower liner was filthy and full of pink mildew. I had to finish my shower and then took it down and washed it (the liner in the hall bath looked brand new) not knowing if I could get a new one or how long it would take. I called maintenance and they quickly brought up a new liner. I was still upset because no one should have missed a liner that disgusting.

The prior reviews describe the elevator situation very accurately (though we did find 4-6 carts available on slow check-in/out days). Even a 5 min wait is tough when you have a young one (20 mos) and the lack of elevators does tend to dominate your vacation. Agree the beach was crowded and did at lunch and dinner have strong fried smells from the restaurant next door. We did like that we could use our EZ-Up canopy on the beach and leave it up the whole time we were there. We were afraid we'd have to take it up and down all week. We also picked up beach chairs at Wal-Mart for $29 each (ranged from $12 - $50 and they had lots) so saved a lot of money on renting chair/umbrella from beach service.

Part of why I picked this place was the zero entry pool, and I knew from prior reviews that there was limited deck space so was not shocked. However, there were so many sprayers in the kiddie pool that my 20 mos old only played in a very small area because you were bombarded with water if you ventured off of the 2 end areas. Children a little older did not seem to mind this.

Parking was also tight so we started hugging the line when we parked so no one would park next to us (it is impossible to get a child in a car seat when you have no space to stand). Got a knock on the door from security who gave us a "citation" for parking on the line. So we moved the vehicle that day. Our key also quit working one day and was very irritated that there was no one in the office on Sunday afternoon. We were lucky that a woman at the pool had to get the "association" phone # the prior day and she loaned us her cell. But we got the run around, call this person, go to security, etc. Luckily the security supervisor was next door and had a key and was able to get us in to our room w/in an hour (the elevator wait time accounting for most of the wait having to go up and down to the office). But again, with a 20 mos old, standing in wet suits, no money, no car keys, no phone, no food we couldn't have waited a second longer. Thanks to good samaritan Jenna for saving us with the phone number and Phone!!!

Also didn't like that the main road to get to wal-mart/grocery stores from the condo was very packed and backed up at peak travel times (dinner and check-in days). Took forever to go a short ways (I think there was a toll road close by that by-passed this main road but didn't know enough about it or how long it took so we never used). Also long waits at the restaurants so we started going to dinner at 4:30 and 5:00. By the time we would leave there would be huge crowds waiting for tables (again, not really feasible with small children).

The final disappointment was the ocean. I know they were dealing with side effects of Tropical Storm Ernesto, but other than one day the water was full of green moss that stuck to you everywhere (inside suit and out). So we only got in the water one day and used the pool the rest of the time.

So, even though unit 804 was mostly very nice and worth the money, the overall Seawind complex was not worth the money/frustration. I'll be going back to Fort Walton Beach next time we visit the gulf.

Room Tip: Rooms ending in 4 have large balcony and 2nd bedroom has own door onto balcony.

19 floors only 2 small and slow elevators. We waited over 2 hours upon arrival waiting to get a elevator. Our son finally carried our baggages up 4 flights of stairs. Our unit was well worned and dirty. The carpet was filthy. The mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable. They need replaced. Being downstream from the fishing pier there will always be dead fish on the beach. We will stay in Orange Beach.
