We live in Huntsville and every time we have out of town guests we visit the US Space and Rocket Center. And we never grow tired of it! It's very clean and we always find something new to learn. There are new exhibits ever few months to keep it fresh. Fun for all and very family friendly.

This place was pretty cool. My fam and I didn't have money or time but we stopped by for a moment and took a couple pics, looked through giftshop. This would be an amazing day to plan out here but even briefly I am glad we stopped by.

The US Space and Rocket Center has a great collection of rockets from the earlier days of space exploration. The Saturn V rocket and the Space Shuttle are always impressive and there are a couple of theatres showing well produced films. I would say that the center is geared towards children and students but still worth a visit.

The most interesting thing the last time I was there was the Mars rock climbing wall. A most pleasant surprise. Appropriate safety gear eg harness, was provided but no climbing shoes . Climbing a moderately technical route, wearing a suit and dress shoes was an unforgettable experience.

As a Houstonian and fan/supporter/advocate for NASA and the Johnson Space Center in Houston, I am a tad embarrassed to say that I preferred the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. We were so impressed by this exceptional representation of NASA and space exploration. The exhibits, the variety, the learning, the inspiration, and the ponderings that we left with all made for a wonderful day. The interactive exhibits were engaging for adults and children, and they WORKED! The last time we visited the Space Center Houston, it seemed so commercialized with cartoon character exhibits, etc., and we left disappointed. The Huntsville center is top notch and we are so glad that we visited. Nice gift shop, too!

We went to see the latest Da Vinci exhibit and were thrilled with the display of many of his inventions. The revamped gift shop had lots to offer. This was our first visit without out of town visitors and loved it.
