“A great time with alot to see and do!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Recently visited the space center for the first time since I was a child on a school field trip. There are tons of things to see and do here. Alot of education about the space program, the various missions, the moon landing, the space station, and more. The rockets are great as are the exhibits, and many of them have interactive things to do. There's also an IMAX theater. A great way to spend a day for anyone.

“A stunning historical gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

We came to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center this weekend for its newest attraction, the GPS Adventures Maze. While that geocaching adventure was the carrot that brought us here, we were amazed by all the history that we had heard of through the years but was right now before us.

We loved driving to the center and seeing the erect Saturn I rocket as our beacon to the facility (kind of neat seeing that it has a camera up top that the local weatherman uses on broadcasts). Even though the space shuttles don't fly anymore, it was still inspirational seeing one attached to fuel tanks (albeit this one, the Pathfinder, didn't ever fly).

There was a display of Wernher von Braun, the father of rocket science who was responsible for the U.S. rocket program. One of his crowning achievements, the ginormous Saturn V rocket that brought Apollo astronauts to the moon, sits next door in the Davidson Center for Space Exploration. He also incidentally lobbied hard for the creation of this center.

There's so much stuff here, and most of its relevance is subtle. Outside is what I thought was an SR-71 blackbird. But it was actually an A-12 Blackbird, a CIA spy plane that was a predecessor to the SR-71.

It's one of the few times that I'd wished I'd done more reading about a museum before coming here. I'm thankful that the center sponsored the geocaching exhibit and it will be great to come back to soak in more of what the center has to offer.

“Great for all ages!”

We've visited many times and always enjoy our trips here. Space Camp families can tour before or after they drop off their campers so little brothers and sisters get a fun dose of space education too.

“Too little time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014 via mobile

So much to see. So little time. Set up is unusual. You enter through the gift shop. Then get a photo, then on to the ticket entrance. We used our COSI membership and got in for free. It's in their reciprocating system. They give you a map and Set you loose. Nice rock wall, mars simulator, and geocaching station. My son is looking forward to coming next year for space camp.

“Educational and a Great Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

We spent about half a day at the space center (two adults), and had a great time. A weekday in May was perfect, as there were no lines to deal with. We saw everything, did the rides and saw a great movie. If you have AAA, there's a discount. We had fun.
