“Okay - not great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

Two distinct halves to the museum. First is not so great, mostly for kids, but even then, they may not be so interested. There were a lot of unidentified items that were sort of haphazardly placed about. Not sure if they are transitioning this area but it was just poorly designed. The second building dedicated to the Saturn V and the Apollo missions makes up for the very dissapointing beginning. Lots of great items on display and the story of the space race is told very well, including moon rocks, and Casper, the Apollo 16 capsule. Tons of interactive things - a lunar lander simulator and a LEM/CSM docking simulator.

“Out of this World!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

I had no expectations prior to visiting the Space Center and I was overwhelmed by the experience. So much of the hardware integral to America's Space program is on exhibit with the giant Saturn V rocket hanging from the ceiling in the Davidson Center being the most spectacular. Dr. Wernher von Braun came to Huntsville in 1950 to work with scientists to launch the American space program and at the same time planted the seed to establish this museum to document the work. There are simulators available to give people a chance to experience the physics of training and a Space Camp for youngsters to spark their science interests. We missed the IMAX movie because we didn't get our tickets soon enough and it was sold out! We ate a nice sandwich in the Mars Grill but the service was quite slow.

“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

My granddaughter just completed Space Academy here and it is a fabulous complex. So many things to see and do for people of all ages. It is a large area so one greattip is that the main gift shop has mobility scooters for rent. Made a great difference in my visit!
