My family and I visited the U.S. Space and Rocket Center last year. From the moment we got to the parking lot and until we left, we enjoyed seeing all the exhibits and viewing the photos from the start of the space age. While visiting the center, I found that I was constantly taking pictures of just about everything they had on display. (i.e., rockets, capsules, landing modules and space suits.) They let you take all the pictures you want. There was no way that I or my family were bored at this attraction. This was History that was made by our U.S. Space Program. Anyone that has an interest in Space or wants to find out about the U.S. Space Program needs to go visit this center in Huntsville, Al.

Visited the center for the first time. Lots of history about the space program with lots of rockets and modules to see. Many interactive activities for adults and kids as well. Get the center and IMAX combo for a few dollars more, it is worth it. The cafeteria is good especially the huge salad bar.

This was a neat place to visit. We really enjoyed the Saturn V exhibit hall. We met one former employee that helped design the vehicle the astronauts used on the moon. (It had to be unfolded before use and there was a small replica at the exhibit that visitors can try to fold and unfold). We also talked to one of the guys who worked on one of the simulators. Both had some fascinating stories and it was very interesting and exciting to get to talk to them.

The Saturn V hall also included a real moon rock, Skylab Orbital Workshop, and Apollo capsule.

The rockets and Pathfinder that were located outside were also something to see. In addition there were several outdoor examples of missiles and launchers in addition to a helicopter and 2-person submarine. (I can't believe how small that was!)

We were probably there about 3 hours (including lunch) but could have stayed longer if our 3-year-old hadn't been so tired. I should mention that there is a small play area for toddler/preschoolers. (That helped keep our daughter occupied for a little while). There were some flight simulators that we might have checked into if we'd had more time.

This is also home to Space Camp and Aviation Challenge Camp, and we saw groups of kids who were likely part of those programs. Someday we'll probably visit again when our daughter is old enough to enjoy it more!
