The history is wonderful. The buildings are well kept. Costumed employees offer guided tours or will answer your questions if you prefer to wander about on your own. Nicely landscaped.

“Breakfast Trolley Tour - Interesting but painful”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

This review is of the 19 July 2014 Breakfast Trolley Tour. Our group of three adults arrived at the Alabama Constitution Village entrance about 30 minutes early and waited with several other small groups for the door to open. Once inside we checked in and enjoyed a coffee and muffin while we waited for the trolley to arrive. The coffee was quite good and as the tiny waiting area overflowed with the rest of the tour groups I heard several people say the muffins were good as well. When the trolley arrived we all headed for the steps to climb on board. A few people who need canes to walk had considerable trouble climbing the steps but with assistance from those around them they eventually made it on board and found a seat. The seats are wooden and the legroom between them is perfect for a child. Adults - not so much. Several of us had to sit sideways in the seats, and several more opted to sit on the padded engine cover shelf at the rear. After everyone was on board the tour guide arrived - in regular street clothes unfortunately - and discovered that her small PA system didn't work. A replacement was found and the tour began. Huntsville has a very interesting past and the tour guide gave the history of many historic buildings as we drove past them. We even stopped for a few but didn't have a chance to leave the bus for a closer look or better photos. A few of us had windows open due to the AC not being turned on, or maybe not working, and were able to take photos without shooting through dirty glass when the historic landmark was on our side of the bus. After an hour of driving around and getting glimpses of historic homes we arrived back at constitution village and concluded the tour. Overall I found the tour to be very interesting, but I wish they had accommodations for adults and/or handicaps and would take a little more time at each of the historic landmarks. For me those few improvements would make the tour worth going on again when out of town family or friends come to visit.

If you are interested in History. This is the place you might want to visit coming to Huntsville. I took my dad and we had a great time. The staff ist wonderful and has great stories to tell. If you like to know how things worked in the past you will love this place. We took tons of pics. They also have a little gift store.

“Santa's Village”

We only went here at Christmas when they had Santa's Village. It rocks! My kids are older now, but still want to go. Don't miss it if you've got little ones.

“Santa's Village”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2014

My niece asks me every year to take her to Santa's Village! She loves decorating (and eating) a cookie, looking at the live reindeer, having her picture made with all the characters, and writing her letter to Santa. The line for Santa is a little long, and we haven't waited in the past, but it's a neat experience! Also, we love the fake snow!
