If you are staying at the Westin Hotel - this is a great area for shopping, staying, eating, movies, the whole works. You really wouldn't need to leave this area for the whole weekend if you didn't want to. Very nice!

When I was planning a southern states road trip The Bridge Street Town Centre looked like an interesting stop. After spending the day at the nearby U.S. Space and Rocket Center we decided to checkout The Bridge Street Town Centre for a place to eat, and to see what's there.

A local resident of Huntsville would probably find the area a good place to eat, as there are many restaurants there. As a tourist passing through, looking for something different, you will be disappointed as the restaurants are mostly chains that you see in many areas. Likewise the majority of stores were ones you see in every major town in America.

If you doing any amount of traveling you notice that these upscale outdoor shopping centers with the landscaping are becoming popular. Not much personality to them, once you've seen one, they all start to look alike.

Beautiful upscale outdoor mall. You can ride the carousel or take a relaxing ride on the Gondola that meanders through the property. Later you can enjoy a dinner in one of their restaurants. We ate at Connors Steak House. It was absolutely delicious. Then afterwards you can enjoy the musicians that are playing along the walkways or even a good movie. This place has it all!!!

Really beautiful outdoor shopping area! We got there in the morning around 10 a.m. as the shops were just opening. We walked around for over an hour before we saw anyone else it was very quiet and pretty place to walk.My husband commented on how nice it was also.We found a really nice chocolate shop with great candy. The orange chocolate was great.Really nice variety of shops, and places to eat. I was a little disappointed that the Merry go round was closed for renovations. And the gondola ride were only open at night. Some of the big restaurants are no longer in business. Would love to go back at night and experience it under the lights. They close at 7:00 p.m. on Sundays.

This is an outdoor shopping center. Oftern, we have "pop up showers" around here, so it's wise to bring a compact umbrella. Mom and I got caught in a pop up shower and had to grab some not-so-lovely trash bags to try and shield ourselves from the rain! :-0 In fact, most of my friends keep a separate pair of flip flops/walking shoes because the cobblestoned areas will grab your high heels.

They are renovating the lake, building additional parking and adding a new Belk Dept Store, so there is a good bit of noise and traffic affiliated with the construction.

There has been a pretty high turnover rate in restaurants as of late (noteably Watercress Restaurant and the private dining club, Heritage Club both closed and Tommy's pizza closed yesterday).

I do love Bridge Street though and plenty of good restaurants, the monaco movie theater and clothing stores remain! It's probably a good idea to call the restaurant before you go out there, to ensure they are still in business.
