“Ducky Days”
Reviewed 24 January 2013

Our family loves to visit the ducks and walk the whole park. The fresh-water springs are full of Koi fish, too.

We wish this park were serviced privately so park users could have nicer services like available, clean restrooms and more food options like hot dogs or popcorn and soft drinks. The atmosphere is kind of urban sterile.

The park is not always well maintained and has limited parking (free from 5:00pm and on weekends only.) The city-owned park has switched to selling feed pellets for the ducks and fish. It is expensive: 1/3 ounce for $0.25, enough for one small child's hand.

Best to go on sunny weekend afternoons. Allow for no restrooms and long walks.

“Easily accessible.”
Reviewed 9 January 2013

Big Spring Park was across the street from the Holiday Inn where I was staying and in the center of Huntsville. It would be much nicer in the Spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and all the trees are green but on a sunny day in January it was a nice area to walk through. The geese and ducks, and many fish, along with the Japanese bridge, fountain, waterfalls and canal made the walk interesting, and to view all the buildings adjacent to the park.
