Very nice park and very relaxing place to jog and stroll in the morning or afternoons. Kids will enjoy for sure.

The big spring is a nice photo op location for visitors with the rock wall backdrop. I like watching the goldfish (koi?) swim up and down the little water channel that goes across the street into the big lake/pond where all the ducks like to gather and waddle around. If you visit you have to walk across the Japanese red bridge that was gifted to the city by then Lieutenant Colonel Mikio Kimata back in the 60's. Take a look at the calendar of events to check if there is a live music or other event going on when you come to visit!

Monday nights have free CONCERTS IN THE PARK during summertime. Free Wi-Fi. A problem with geese mess, but it is being cleaned up on a regular basis.

There is nothing like just walking or sitting on a blanket at Big Spring Park. The landscape is well-kept, which makes a world of difference. The only drawback, like any large park, are the children who are allowed by their parents to throw rocks at or chase down the wildlife. If you plan to visit Big Spring Park with children, please teach them to respect the animals.
