Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast
Reviewed 12 August 2008

I booked the "Bird of Paradise" package (2 nights at the B&B and a 45 min. ride in a 1928 biplane over the Gulf Coast) as a suprise for my wife. We both loved it! The owner, David Worthington, was a superb host and the house (built in the late 1800's) is the model of what an old Southern home should be.

We stayed in the Harding Suite, which is the largest of the five rooms. It was very relaxing. Sound does travel easily throughout the house, so you have to be mindful of other guests. It's great for couples. The Live Oaks that line the street in front of the house are beautiful.

Honestly, I can't think of anything that was wrong or not up to what we expected. It was a great experience and would certainly recommend the Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast to anyone!

P.S. If you want a bottle of Champagne or other ammenities, David will do his best to accommodate you.

My wife and I were on our way to Florida and this was the perfect place for us to stop. We were greeted warmly and David is a great host. We ate a delicious dinner at Jessie's nearby and settled in for a relaxing evening. The next morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast before we headed off to Florida. We will definitely return. We weren't looking for a place with a lot to do. We wanted to relax and found this great hideaway that did the trick.

David and Eric's B&B is a toast to good taste and friendliness. David has managed to maintain the character and
historical aspect of the beautiful house that is immersed in the green and oak trees of Magnolia Springs with style and
passion. I spent three very enjoyable days with my family there (although we would have liked to have been able to stay
longer). We were spoiled by David who was an excellent host - the kind that is rarely found in Europe. And we adored
his tasty and substantial breakfasts, even though we had to get used to eating so much so early in the morning! The
excellent restaurant, Jessie's, which is a stone's throw away, is another great reason (as if you needed one) to visit
this B&B.

We just got back from a wonderful relaxing weekend celebrating our anniversary. David is a wonderful host and is so knowledgeable about the property, local restaurants, attractions, and things to do. He recommended Jesse's Restaurant and it was wonderful! (He even gave us a voucher for a free dessert at Jesse's and it was great!) We really enjoyed our stay and the 3 course gourmet breakfast was awesome. We were not hungry again until that evening.

They really made us feel like home. Cookies, tea, coffee, water, soft drinks were always provided and we were welcome to as much as we wanted. The first night we stayed, the house was completely booked, but we never heard anyone else. Each room is equipped with a white noise machine and a fan to block out any noise and they obviously worked!

This house is in a beautiful setting with canopy lined oaks covering the road and the water is not too far off the road. Magnolia Springs is a quiet little town but only about 10 minutes away from outlet malls, the beach, amusement parks, and sooo much to do. We would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast for a quiet, peaceful getaway!

We had 3 night stay at this wonderful hideaway. We booked the 2 bedroom Harding Suite as we were traveling with our 13 and 15 year old children. The accommodations were absolutely beautiful and were everything and more than we had expected from the photos that we had seen online. The restored 110 year old home was quite charming and it was so relaxing to sit on the wrap around porch drinking the morning coffee and listen to the birds. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood complete with the grandeur of huge live oaks. The actual location was very convenient to many attractions including historical sites, many nature walks, beaches, most within 15-45 minutes driving distance.

To complement the beautiful accommodations, our hosts David and Eric were absolutely wonderful hosts! They bent over backwards to make sure that we were comfortable during our stay and advised us on places to visit, restaurants, and had pamphlets/maps, etc available. David is a skilled chef and prepared a fantastic 3 course breakfast every morning at 9:00.
Besides being delicious, David also made sure that the meal was healthy. He made special arrangements to prepare vegetarian meals for us, and even cooked special pancakes for our children!

Overall, we were very pleased that we had chosen Magnolia Springs B&B. We will definitely return! David and Eric truly love what they do and that is what makes this B&B such a success!!

My Husband and I were looking for some where to stay for one night before departing on a Cruise out of Mobile. We just HAPPEN to come across Magnolia Springs! We didnt realize that would be the MOST amazing night of our life! We loved the beautiful and quiet little town, and the gorgeous home! We were greetd by name and instantly felt as if we had been friends with the owners forever! They were SOOOO nice! They told us of a great restraunt "The Tin Top" the local restraunt was closed on Sunday! "The Tin Top" was a few miles away BUT SO worth the drive! Casual seafood restraunt but They treated us as if we were royalty! We woke to a WONDERFUL breakfast! The only regret was we only stayed one night! I was ready to cancel my cruise by the end of my stay! From the moment we pulled out of the drive I have READY to go back! I cant wait to plan my end of summer stay at Magnolia Springs!!!! Its a great place for a relaxing stay or romantic getaway!

This was our second visit in 5 years. The care of the hosts, the charm of the historic home, the quiet and secluded street, and the close proximity to many activities and shopping all played a part in our selection. We will recommend this restful spot to our friends.
