We stayed at Tony's and Eleanor's delightful home on our trek from Toledo to our home in TX Thanksgiving week. We had the spacious Nautical room that had it's own deck area and private entrance. We had some dietary preferences and Eleanor (we share names) was so sweet to make delicious foods to accommodate us and even shared her recipes. We were impressed by their lovely garden and I am sure it is fabulous in the spring and summer. We have stayed in over 50 b&bs in the US and Canada and I have to rate Raven Haven in the top 5! What makes a b&b great to me is the enthusiasm and hospitality of the innkeeper and after all the years this couple has been in this business they still have it. They aim to please their guests and we felt pampered and right at home.
We also loved DeSoto Park, Miracle Pottery and don't miss Eddie's Florist if you are there around Christmas...it's not your usual florist- they have hundreds of decorated themed trees and ornaments for every single person you know! Their Redneck Tree was my fave.
Tony showed us all the rooms at Raven Haven and they all looked very comfortable and great bathrooms too. Don't miss this special place for a great get-away!

My Husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our time @ Raven Haven & were pleased with our room, The Grounds & the Delicious Breakfast! The room was upstairs with a Private entrance & was Nautically themed & DARLING!! The property was very well maintained with flowers & a nice path to hike on. THE Hosts were delightful, well manered & caring about thier guests. The Home cooked Breakfast was served to us on lovely China & since we were the only Guests that day, it made us feel Super Special to be so nicely treated. I Highly reccomend Raven Haven. It's quite a Treat!

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the Nautical Room, Upstairs.

Our two-night stay in the Prairie Room at Raven Haven B&B was wonderful. Absolutely nothing negative to say. The room was very comfortable. The breakfasts and the late night desserts were delicious. Tony and Eleanor were very gracious hosts. Will definitely return!!!

So delighted to have found Tony and Eleanor, who were exceptional hosts, for a few days of much need rest and relaxation. My husband and I take care of our own bed and breakfast in the mountains of Western North Carolina, so we decided to get away for a few days before the Fall color started, and guests were headed our way. We could not have picked a more perfect spot to take some time for ourselves. Our room was quiet, comfortable and cozy. The homemade breakfast was delightful, and the dessert in the evening after a day of exploring, was just what we needed. Eleanors flower gardens were beautiful, and added another restful touch. It was a perfect opportunity to compare notes between innkeepers as well! We look forward to returning to enjoy all that Ravens Haven, and the area has to offer!

Room Tip: We liked the Nautical room with the extra porch. Plenty of privacy.

Can't wait to return! This was our fourth visit and hope there will be many more. Tony and Eleanor have to be the best B&B host and hostess in the southeast. We stayed in the Casablanca room this time but each room is as nice as the other and the breakfast is beyond belief with all the homemade sides etc. And then there are the gardens! We spent more time outside than we did inside strolling through the beautiful flowers and shrubs. Can't wait 'til next time.

Room Tip: You'll be pleased with any of the rooms.

We had the good fortune to pick Raven Haven as our point of destination when we decided to visit Mentone for our 15th Anniversary. It couldn't have been a more perfect stay! Our room (The Nautical) was very comfortable, clean and cozy. The owners, Tony and Eleanor are exceptional hosts and wonderful people. They made us feel very much at home and provided little touches all through the weekend that really made us feel special. (The homemade desserts, when we returned from our evening out, are an example...they were delicious!) The breakfasts were incredible. These were not your usual B&B breakfasts, but gourmet dishes (different each morning), using many ingredients from their own beautiful garden. Those meals were as good as I've had at any restaurant and believe me, you will not leave the table hungry. The Haven is situated on ten acres about three miles out of Mentone, so you have plenty of peace and quiet, and having coffee on the porch, enjoying the surrounding nature is a wonderful way to start the day. The aforementioned garden is a thing of beauty and the seating areas all through it, allow for moments of relaxation in the midst of the beauty. If you want to have a great experience, meet two wonderful people and spend a couple of days in Heaven, then book a stay at the Haven. We left refreshed and happy and wishing we could turn right around and go back. Thank you, Tony and Eleanor for a beautiful weekend. We'll never forget our 15th! Blessings to you both!

My husband wanted to get away and he wanted to go to Mentone. We had visited Mentone many times in the past but it had been 10 years. I found Raven Haven on the internet and it looked very pleasant and interesting. The pictures on the web don't do it justice. The rooms are great! I want to try them all! We stayed in Casa Blanca, a Moroccan oasis. It was thoughtfully (and thoroughly) decorated, with chocolates on our bed at arrival and a dessert waiting for us in the frig. Eleanor cooks like a chef and Tony is a wonderful host. The gardens out back are so colorful with swings and benches at every turn. Even Sunshine, the resident cat, was coaxed into being petted. We left rested and regretful that our time had been so short. Don't forget to look at the stars at Raven Haven. They have more than we do in Birmingham.

Room Tip: Casa Blanca is totally wheelchair accessible, even the bathroom. Queen Ann looks completely lovely...
