We found the market a colourful lively place. You get the typical hassle from the locals but that is to be expected. Not sure about the quality of the goods but you can grab a bargain if you are willing to barter.

A bargain can be had by bartering the price. An interesting colorful market with a mixture of indian crafts and souvenirs mixed with westerners selling trance fashion and handmade jewelry and leather work. There are plenty of food stalls beer bars and a cacophony of live music. Plenty of interesting people to watch. I love anjuna market it has a nice buzz

I stayed back an extra day in goa to visit the much talked about Anjuna flea market(happens every wednesday). The shop keepers start coming in at 10AM and by noon the market is up and running.
I spent close to 3 hours here trying to buy something for everyone, but sadly I could strike only a few bargains. The place is a nightmare for tourists.
In fact I found better and cheaper stuff in the small shops on the Calangute-Baga road.

We went about 8.30am to avoid it when it was too busy. We spent a few hours browsing the many stalls, clothes, bags, music, spices amongst many other things. Easy to get some bargains by haggling.
As the morning went on it was, as is obvious, hotter, so we had a cold drink amongst the many places to get refreshments. I would recommend a hat and some water if you go in the day.
The only downside was that there are limited toilet facilities and the one we found was the indian style.
