“Lovely!”
Reviewed 19 January 2013 via mobile

This is a lovely place to stay, an oasis! Really beautiful and peaceful but close to get to places, beaches etc. I would recommend this to people who want to relax. Ayesha and Jamshed, Zal and their dogs are very welcoming!

Went for a girls trip to Capella. It was fabulous. The couple who own the house are very warm and pay great attention to detail.

The infinity pool is lovely. One can spend the entire day sitting by the pool and taking a dip when one feels like. You can go swimming at night even.

The bar is open to guests - one can just make a note in the book about what one consumes and you get billed at the end.

Breakfasts (included in price) are wholesome (not too much variety) but well made. Home made bread is a specialty and its great to wake up to the smell of fresh bread being baked in the kitchen.

The room upstairs is fabulous.

Ideal for family of 4 to 6 people.

Based on the fantastic reviews on this site, I decided to book the three rooms in Capella. I was travelling with my parents, my sis, her hubby, my nephew and my son. From the moment we were welcomed in Capella to the time we bid adieu, our stay at Ayesha and her husband's home was beyond our expectations. The food, the rooms, the view, the hum of thier beautiful house, the warm hospitality, everything made it one of the most memorable stays I've ever had. A big thanks from all of us to Ayesha for making this trip so special to us.

It's become a bit of a ritual - heading to Goa for the Royal Enfield Rider Mania - not so much because we get to meet other like minded bikers from around the country, but because it is our best excuse to spend a few days at Capella. It's like gravity, you get sucked in and never want to leave. The more recent addition of the pool has just made the force that much stronger. We almost invariably land up spending more time at Capella and only visit Rider Mania occasionally.
Ayesha and Jamshed's hospitality of course has a lot to do with it. I personally prefer staying in the main house, in the room on the first floor with a balcony, but if you want some quiet time, they also have a cozy little stand alone cottage a short stroll away from the house.
I'd also suggest that you insist on some of the home made prawn curry and rice - to put it plainly - it is superb.
It's also located perfectly, a short drive away from the chaos of Baga beach, so you can come back home for some quiet time whenever you want. Too much partying can get hectic!

I’m not sure if words are going to be enough to express our stay at Capella...you have to go and experience it. But, here goes...

Capella's location is just perfect for those wanting to binge at the eateries in North Goa. The lovely beaches of north goa are approximately 45 mins away. Yes, you will need a scooty/bike or Car...as is the case anywhere in Goa. Ayesha arranged that for us in a flash at a competitive rate and also arranged our Airport pick and drop well.

We stayed in the cottage which was a stones throw away from the main house. The infinity pool and the view around was just awesome. The quiet surrounding are just perfect to chill or read/write a book if that’s your thing.

Breakfast and lunch was super. Special mention to the prawn curry rice...one of the best I've eaten anywhere. Could have done with some bacon with breakfast (should have asked actually). For Dinners one has to step out...but as I said the eateries aren’t far. Must recommend J&A's...again its run by the Capella folks...had a lovely dinner there with live music.

The hosts...Ayseha, Jamshed and crew took care of us from the first minute. Above all they made us feel like family. Capella was just what my wife and I were looking for and needed. Hoping to go back there soon. Thanks, J&A. Stay in touch.

We stumbled upon Capella while browsing through Tripadvisor and were most impressed by its Five Star rating -- and the uniformly glowing reviews. Within hours of reaching the homestay, we understood just why Capella is such a favourite with tourists who prefer small and intimate hotels to the mega resorts that dot Goa's beaches.
The lucky guests at Capella get to stay in a glorious bungalow -- built in the Goan style -- filled with antique furniture, super books and interesting artifacts. Our room on the first floor was absolutely enormous and opened out onto a little terrace. A perfect place to laze about and relax.
Capella is situated in a tiny village -- away from the horde of tourists. But it is just 20 minutes away from splendid beaches and swish restaurants.
Unlike so many homestays, Capella is very particular about cleaning the rooms and providing prompt service. Also, the bathrooms are very modern and clean, with efficient plumbing.
My three daughters enjoyed the sense of space and the lovely swimming pool, surrounded by trees and beautiful birds. They also loved playing in the charming courtyard. Not to mention the delicious breakfast pancakes whipped up by Maria and the rest of the smiling staff.
Ayesha and Jamshed were very, very welcoming and hospitable. And we also enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at the charming bistro that they run near the Baga creek -- J and A's Bistro.

My husband and I stayed at Capella from 16th to 19th November, 2012. We were back here after exactly one year. Somehow, for us, Goa has become synonymous with Capella! We just can't stay anywhere else anymore!!

Capella is the beautiful and warm home of Ayesha and Jamshed, our fantastic hosts. Not only does the place have loads of character, but it also has a very positive and welcoming energy. There's a lot of greenery and a large variety of winged beauties (birds and butterflies) around. The little pool is nice and relaxing. We loved staying home as much as roaming about on our bike which is easily available on hire and a must have to travel through the tiny jammed bylanes of Goa. Having the two beautiful dogs and two cats around (one of them, a new addition: an amazing little kitten called Tiffin) is absolutely therapeutic! Ayesha and Jamshed make sure all your needs are taken care of, with the help of their excellent staff. They go out of their way to do the little things that make your trip memorable. The human touch is what makes this place a far superior experience than a regular hotel.

This is a BnB, and they offer a sumptuous breakfast. I would highly recommend having lunch at Capella. They whip up really yummy fare. We ate there on all the days of our stay! And dont forget to visit J&A's; the Italian restaurant that Ayesha and Jamshed own. The food is smashing, the desserts are out of this world, and who knows, you might spot some celebrity there! :)

All in all, Capella is an idyllic getaway in the heart of North Goa. The best part of being at Capella is the flexibility it offers. You can borrow a book from their vast collection, or watch TV or a movie(from their collection of DVDs), or play a board game, swim, go bird watching, or head out! You can have a lazy holiday spent doing nothing at all, or have a happening one, or a right mix of both. If you love peace and a natural setting, and yet want to be close enough to the beaches and markets and restaurants, Capella is the place for you. As for us, we've totally fallen in love with Capella, and we'll probably trouble Ayesha and Jamshed every year! :)

Room Tip: We've stayed at the cottage as well as the upstairs room. They are both excellent.
