“Great time at the resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2014

This was our first visit to Goa and the resort made it even more memorable. Being a large group we wanted a place where we did not have to run from one room to the other and their villas were perfect. Along with the villa came the pool and poolside. Though it is not a huge area it was great as there were only few others in the resort.
We had many changes from our initial bookings but they were good enough to not charge us extra. Morning breakfast is decent but you will have to order a bit extra. They have good aloo parathas.
They will arrange bikes for you on demand.

We stayed for a week in December in the Silhouette villa and had an amazing time. The place looks exactly as you see in the pictures. The property is very well maintained, and everything was super clean -- a HUGE plus in my book. Joie De Vivre is a lovely set of villas, in the middle of a village -- far from the hustle and bustle of usual Goa. We loved the quietness around us, and if we needed action, it was short car ride away. The villas are set around a very clean pool, with very very good landscaping. We actually spent several days of our vacation just lolling by the pool and relaxing.
The staff, led by Terence and Chandan are super nice. We especially enjoyed our long chats with Terence over breakfast every morning -- hearing about Goa, its culture, tradition and all the latest news. Terence also arranged all transportation when ever we needed to head out. Our villa had a full kitchen which came very handy for our 4 year old, and the endless cups of chai the grandparents wanted to brew. The cook at the onsite restaurant is pretty good, and was happy to cater to our whims and fancies. We had an amazingly comfortable and clean stay at the villa, which really helped make our family reunion special.
Thank you Joe De Vivre team.
If at all I have to nitpick, I'd suggest upgrading the towels and toiletries -- but that is is indeed just a nitpick.

Firstly, I would say , you need to stay here to feel what it is, a provencal property in the old by-lanes of noagoa, Goa. we were 3 families with kids in the green colored villa "HELENA" very beautifully decorated. A large swimming pool in the center of all the villas with greenery all around and what a clean well maintained property. 8 villas in a cozy area, well planned, very spacious and away from the beach crowd giving you so much privacy and just a mile to the baga strip. The staff is very polite and Terence and Chandan are a asset to the property. a very safe property as we left our kids at night to go for the nightclubs. the food is made to order and the sitting area is nice.
sure a visit again and highly recommended. cheers!!!!!
a recommendation to the owners- do not need any signs as it will then be visited by crowd, keep it unique,

Room Tip: these are villas and the green colored villas in which we stayed was good. all the rooms are very ta...

A very beautiful && well maintained resort. We were a group of 14 including 4 kids. We stayed in 2 3 bedroom villas. If you're in a group & looking for a place which close to all happening places but but also gives you privacy, this is it. The villas are well planned, spacious & beautiful. The rooms are clean & well maintained. The It has a homely feel. The decor is charming. The staff is very helpful & always serve with a smile. I requested for a baby cot & was provided the same. The kids enjoyed the pool. The food is good & made to order.
The only drawback is finding the place the first time but the staff came to fetch us. They should have some signage.
Would love to visit again whenever in Goa.

Stayed in "joie de vivre" for a few days, during my indian trip.. after Delhi and Mumbai was expecting something really different than pictures and reviews online.
what I ve found was amazing.
first I was upgraded to better room, with a pool view, balcony and kitchenette - can say I had whole floor in the villa for myself.
as it is not a standard hotel, I was asked everyday what I want to eat for an evening meal, ie all food was really fresh and made especially for me.
the rooms were clean, looks like just renovated, bath nice, and spacious, with a huge shower.
swiming pool clean and nice, like on the pictures
there was a problem with wifi during my stay, but I could use the computer in the reception (everything for free and with the smile)
I know if I ever come back to Goa, I will stay in Joie de Vivre for sure

The only thing some might not like is the distance to the beaches...
about 10 minutes on the scooter - 5 min by taxi. renting a scooter is cheap and you can explore all north goa from Joie de Vivre with no problem ( 40 minutes to Arambol Beach)

A very pretty, well made property. If one's looking to stay in a place where you can be away and yet close to all the activity, this is the place. It offers a very comfortable stay for groups travelling. The pool, rooms and the whole place is clean and well maintained. The furniture in the rooms and the selection/placement of the paintings is done amazingly well.. The place is 10-15 min away from Baga/ Calingute. The only disadvantage being finding the place, the first time. Maybe there could be signages/ direction arrows. If you're looking at private jind of place with all things taken care of, its perfect.

Stayed at JDV for 3 nights in February 2011.

The Villas are absolutely beautiful and the service is excellent.

The staff helped us in every possible way and even went out of their way to help us arrange our private pool party.

A special thanks to Chandan @ JDV !

All in all an awesome experience.
