We have just returned from Candolim. We had booked this hotel for 14 nights, and only stayed one because we had no alternative arriving early evening. Very run down, we were on the third floor and the state of the stairs put me off immediately. I should add I am not fussy, but certainly did not expect the room to be as bad as it was. Very dirty, dried blood on the floor, holes in the sheets and I did not dare look at the mattress as I knew I had to sleep on it that night. Bathroom terrible (although that was clean)a badlybroken toilet seat - I could go on. I refused to unpack and my husband agreed with me for once.Once we had our passports returned in the morning we left - and the gentleman on the desk did not appear surprised. Terrible - stay at home if this is what your budget stretches too. I should add we put this down to a bad experience and did not bother to complain - the room was one thing and perhaps they may have offered another, but broken tiles surrounding the pool etc is not where I wanted to be. Shame really because the rooms are very spacious, it just needs a refurbishment and good clean as location is superb.
