Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic 3 nights at Castellos Coco Huts and were really gutted that we werent able to stay longer, we had just had 9 nights in Anjuna and wish we had done it the other way around.
The huts are in a great location just a 10min walk from town, where there are some dirt cheap and great places to eat such as Finefood restaurant and you are pretty much right on the beach. The part of the beach that the huts are located is actually a bit quieter than the rest as well so you have a huge section of stunning beach pretty much to yourselves while further up the beach in both directions everyone is grouped together. There is a beach bar/restaurant associated with the huts but it didnt open until the last day we were there and we didnt eat there either so i cant really comment on the food, it seemed reasonably priced though.
The sea at Benaulim is fantastic for swimming in and you dont have to worry about the rocks like you do in Anjuna.

The hut we stayed in came with a double bed, mosquito net, fan and an ensuite bathroom with a western toilet and shower. There is a communal area with a TV in the centre of all the huts but the staff are typically watching TV there. Overall it cost 400r a night which is a bargain.
I would definitely recommend bringing insect repellent with you as although you have a very good mosquito net, they still manage to get in here and there and we were bitten quite a few times.
This place would also maybe not be so ideal for people who aren't too keen on frogs as the bathroom always seems to have several hoping around. We also got startled at one point by a rat that climbed up our wall on the first night but it was gone then and we never saw it again. This really isnt a problem though as it is all part and parcel of what comes with being in a hut as opposed to something with solid brick walls.

The owner is really nice and chatty and the staff that work there are also really nice and helpful.

To get to the huts from Madgaon train station it will cost around 200r in a tuk tuk to cover the 7km or so.

Overall, we loved this place and would love to come back to Benaulim again and we would definitely stay here if we did.

If you decide to stay here because of the price its false advertisement! The owner is extremely rude and will charge you more than the web quotes. Very poor location with nothing around, rats in the beach huts, dirty mattresses that were still wet from the last people's sweat in the night. Do yourself a favor and don't book!

After reading some other reviews i see that we were not the only people that had the same problem at Castello's Tourist Nest - the owner is a HORRID man with ZERO manners and he has NO idea how to run his business.
We book a "beach hut" and when we arrived he tried to take us to a very run down house in the town (away from the beach front) after we said no we booked a beach hut he got really mad at us and reluctantly took us to the beach huts - where he then said he had no space and tired to make us sleep in a very small hut with a bed from on the beach - "which we had to return every morning"
Castello didn't care what we had booked and got mad shouting at us 2 girls - to the point we were scared and then he kicked us out.

Castello's Tourist Nest WAS THE WORST place we 'almost' stayed at in India.

Absolutely awful manager, he tried to cheat us out of the room we booked. He has a temper and no people skills whatsoever. VERY disappointing. Rooms are small, dingey and dirty and the toilets are shared with the whole resort and are dirty. Don't waste your money.

After booking two seaside rooms the owner tried to move us to the most dreadful room in the town. He wanted four of us to share one room (after we booked 2) with 2 mattresses on the floor that had come from outside. We refused and said we wanted to stay where we had booked. He took us back and again tried to make us share one room with 2 mattresses on the floor one of which he said we had top take off the beach every night and put it back every morning! After speaking to guests currently there we found out it had happened to them too. We insisted on the rooms we had booked, and he screamed at us and locked us out of the room. Most awful person and horrible, horrible experience. DO NOT STAY HERE!
