A group of friends and I stayed at Oshin's for several weeks during the 2011-12 New Year holiday. We rented one large bungalow equipped with a kitchen/dining area, queen bed, hot water shower, and patio on the ground floor. We also rented a one bedroom room, and a room with two beds. (One and two bed rooms had cold water showers only.)
The rooms were all very clean with fresh linens and complimentary soap, which is above average in India. The property was very pretty with many plants and flowers. It was not in the center of Benaulim (a tiny, sleepy beachside town) which made it the perfect escape because it was quiet, and extremely safe, especially at night. Each room has a patio off of it (some were shared with a neighbor) that included a table and chairs for lounging.
Guests were all friendly-- some staying for an extended time-- and the family was responsive and kind, and even their dog was friendly. Water and beer can be purchased in the "lobby" and you can keep food in the fridge if one is not in your room. There is also a large dining area where you can hang out and order food during certain times of the day.
The only "problem" I experienced was with the kitchen which is NOT equipped. Be prepared to possibly pay extra for gas, and to purchase your own plates, utensils, and other necessities. I believe pots and pans were provided. A refrigerator is also provided.
NOTE: this rating is for Indian standards, and should not be compared to western amenities.
