We have stayed in a lot of rental properties in Goa and this was one of the best. It was very well equipped spotlessly clean and came complete with a housekeeper who was there to greet us even though we arrived in the early hours of the morning. To someone who had never been to Goa before Carrie was a major source of information about the locality. She provided a welcome pack so that we could have a hot drink on arrival. She also gave us a phone with a local sim with a lot of useful numbers in it. She very kindly went to a local money exchange the day after we arrived to change some money for us. Nothing was too much trouble. If there were any questions she was always on the other end of the phone. We had a very comfortable stay in this property which even had a private roof terrace. The beach was five minutes away in a tuk tuk there were shops including a new supermarket a five minute walk from the house. There was also a guy who came round on a bike selling fresh bread and wonderful samosas. The beaches in south Goa are spectacular. The beach we used was Baywatch Beach and we used the Gois shack we had great food there as good as any resteraunt food. How they produce it I don't know with an extensive menu and cuisine from several countries. This was a great holiday and this great property enhanced our stay. We were there for three weeks and we intend to go back next year for a month.

“Great stay”

First of all I have to say I understand why this villa hasn't had any reviews for a few years.
We really enjoyed our stay
The villa was lovely, the living area was beautifully furnished with rattan furniture
Kitchen had all you could need, gas hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge freezer ect
Lovely staircase leading to 2 en-suite bedrooms
Roof terrace which was great for your washing
Outside of villa double gates to garden area with parking and a little seating area under the window with 2 comfy chairs and small table
Carrie the housekeeper was a little gem, even giving my husband his favourite, a papaya from the tree in the garden.
Maureen even contacted me via whattsapp to ask is everything ok during our stay
We had a car so 5 mins to the beach
Supermarket 2 minutes walk away which was really well stocked.
All in all we had a fabulous stay, we really enjoyed it.

“Our first experience of self catering in Goa”
Reviewed 5 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

After staying at most of the fine hotels in South Goa, we decided to go self catering this year. We saw the property on trip advisor and the booking was handled very efficiently.

We arrived in Goa early morning, and were met by Carrie (the housekeeper) at the villa with a welcome package which was a nice touch and thoughtful. Especially welcome was the provision of a local mobile phone, which we topped up with credit, and meant we could get in touch with friends in Goa without the fuss of arranging a local Sim, which can be a time-consuming process.

The villa itself is very nice and part of a pleasant, peaceful and well maintained development interspersed with a small number of local residents living in traditional Portuguese houses, giving a sense of community.

The living/dining room is tastefully decorated and pleasant to relax in. Sky TV is provided, but you may need to arrange for additional channels at extra cost, with the housekeeper. The kitchen is well appointed with all the mod cons.

Each of the two double bedrooms were simply but nicely furnished and have an en-suite with a shower, which is very handy.

April can be very hot and humid but thanks to the AC in the living/dining room and bedrooms, we kept cool!

The development has a swimming pool for the exclusive use of residents, which is a nice size and clean. In our experience it was lightly used.

One of the nice aspects of the development is that passing trade comes through so you can buy fresh bread, fish and ice cream from your doorstep! There are also a couple of good local restaurants and shops within a short walking distance.

Getting to the beach is very convenient by taxi - just 5 minutes ride. Not feeling energetic enough, we never attempted to do the 20/30 minute walk!

If you are feeling adventurous, getting around by local bus transport is also very convenient. Although not formally marked, the bus stops pretty much outside the development, offering easy access to Colva town and to Margao.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Danika residency and the freedom of choice self catering offers. We did not miss our hotel rooms, and so we plan to return again!

The house is part of a little community unit of 1 longish, no through road. There is on site security and a large pool which no one seemed to use. Adjoining attached properties have many local resident occupants and the community spirit was a plus.
This house has been recently re painted and has good air con in both bedrooms and lounge. The sat TV was not in English but the house keeper , a local lady, within 4 hrs of asking arranged several English program's including a couple of film Chanels (HBO and star) to mention 2.
Some issues with 1 shower down and 1 toilet down but we simply used the other of each. Some dog noise but to be fair it would be hard to find anywhere around that at some stage didn,t have that. It did not seriously detract from peace and quite.
There is a safe to use and use of mobile house phone which with 200 rupees credit we paid for ,gave 3 calls of about 6 mins in total and 11 txts to UK. Good value and a nice touch. You can get local scooters , twist and go Hondas at about 25o rupees a day which are ideal to get to the beaches which are a good 30 mins walk away at speed !
