“Pleasant, affordable and hospitable destination!”
Reviewed 6 November 2013

We were a group of 12 who were in Goa for sunburn festival and stayed over for New Years. We got amazing hospitality from the owners and staff and the arrangements were very made. A very positive experience and the location and ambience is very supportive too!

I had stayed in this hotel from 12th October, 2013 till 16th October, 2013. The hotel is very near to Calungute Beach (5 min walk) and is very cozy and comfortable. Our Room was on 1st Floor pool side facing. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and happy to help.

Couple of Suggestions: -

1 Kindly start room service
2 Arrange for travel desk if not possible on self basis then have some tie-up with other travel agency in and around GOA.

I would strongly recommend any one wishing to go to GOA for a simple yet comfortable stay.

A friend and I travelled to see some friends who were staying in Goa for Christmas during their travels of India. We booked a 2 week package deal to this hotel as it was a cheap and reliable way of getting to Goa.
On (eventually) arriving at the hotel it looked great, wonderful pool, friendly staff. The room was basic and the beds, whilst looking clean were full of tiny bugs. Staff didn't seem interested in doing anything about it.
On going to visit our friends, we found on our return that our room had been entered and a lot of our possessions stolen, including my passport, trainers, various clothes and even my friends dirty underwear! There was no visible breaking into of the room, it was locked just as we had left it and so it was clear that staff must have been involved in accessing the room for our belongings to have been removed.
the manager did not want to entertain our complaint at all and was quite happy to ignore us. The resulting call to the police met the same response! A trip to the local police station then showed how corrupt things here can get. Lots of waiting and the refusal by the police chief to accept it was 'stolen' and would only complete a statement that said it was 'lost'
All in all, I wouldn't recommend the hotel - the owner had no care for his customers and I would be interested to hear if anyone else suffered the same!
On a positive note, the pool was very nice!

I do not know why my response was rejected. Let me reiterate that this person did not stay in our hotel, we did not have any English persons staying with us throughout December 2012. He must have stayed in another hotel in the same vicinity. We have CCTV we can proove, this review is damaging reputation of the hotel. pls see truth.
Thank you

We stayed in Cary's Hotel from 17th to 25th April. Arriving in the evening we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room, on the first floor overlooking the pool. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and contained a very useful fridge. The bathroom was large and had 24 hour hot water which was lovely. Although the hotel had a generator we did not experience any power cuts during our stay. The beach is a short walk away and there are cafes there all along the beach (and about 20 cows at some times). The staff were friendly and Victor (manager on site most of the time) was especially helpful. What really makes the hotel stand out is their attention to detail and cleanliness, in particular the gardens are washed and swept almost daily which - in a dusty town - makes a huge difference. The hotel has facilities for meals and is close to restaurants if you want to stretch your legs. There is also a road in town called Titos Road which contains a large number of clubs of different types, restaurants, bars and shops. things are open late and all tastes are catered for.
We highly recommend staying at Cary's Hotel and would be happy to stay there on another visit.

Room Tip: Room overlooking pool is good.

We have just returned from a two week stay at Cary's and have had a thoroughly wonderful time. We chose this hotel after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed, in fact our stay completely exceeded our expectations. We made the booking direct with Laura (Cary's wife) via the email address given on here and she couldn't have been more helpful.
We stayed in room 16 which had a balcony overlooking the pool. This is possibly the best room in the hotel although I believe all rooms are identical internally. The room was spacious and included a fridge which was very useful. The bathroom was also large and nicely fitted out (with plenty of hot water provided by solar panels). Also, there is a large generator at the hotel which is very useful for the odd powercut.
The hotel is kept very clean and although daily room cleaning is not included, you only have to ask when handing your key in at the desk and it is done, no problem.
The garden is lovely and green and tended to everyday. Although it is alongside the lane it is very private and a tranquil place to relax. We spent most of our time at the beach but did find the pool a welcome retreat when the beach became a little manic (which it did at times due to the local holidays and festivals).
The beach is a 5 minute walk down the lane and although there is no wifi at Cary's you can find it free at the first shack you come to (Beach Queen). The main road is a 5 minute walk down the lane in the opposite direction. The hotel is in an excellent location for the beach, restaurants and shopping. A taxi driver can usually be found outside the hotel if required but if not you only have to walk up the main road and there is a rank almost opposite.
The staff are all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We never once had to tell them our room number when collecting our key, they all knew who was staying in which room!
Victor is the hotel manager and also the chef. We can thoroughly recommend trying his cooking, particularly the Goan dishes. The included breakfast consists of fruit juice, tea or coffee and two slices of toast with butter and jam. I notice some people have complained about the lack of choice but please remember that this is complimentary and additional items can be ordered from the menu at a very reasonable price. We tried the omelettes on a couple of occasions and they were yummy!
Cary the friendly owner is present at the hotel most days whilst Laura, his lovely wife only visits once or twice a week. They both enjoy chatting and make you feel very welcome. We were lucky enough to enjoy lunch with them and some of their friends whilst there, a highlight of our trip.
We can thoroughly recommend staying at this peaceful hotel, it ticked all the boxes for us.

Swimming pool, Bar, Rooms, location was magnificent and I have enjoyed it thoroughly.

Room Tip: Rooms just facing swiming pool are the best rooms in the hotel.
