“Excellent accommdation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2012

We stayed RCI at RGBC and had a great week. Resort is very good but on a steep slope so may not be suitable for those with disabilities.

Room was excellent, clean, well equipped with two balconies. Staff very friendly and pool areas nice but could do wth a few more loungers. NIce restaurant, we didn't eat there as much cheaper options outside but looked OK with jazz bands etc.

Resort is out of town but we rented mopeds (£3 per day) ad got around easily. Lots of taxis outside to take you into town for approx £2 per journey.

Only thing that annoyed us was that they offered free WIFI for people with laptops but not via phones and they couldnt really give us a good reason for this!

Good standard accommodation. Good restaurants around include Starlight in Arpora (authentic Indian experience, dodgy toilets) and Danny's opposite resort accross the river.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at bottom of slope. Some on 5th floor with no lift so need to be fit.

Promises much & never completely delivers. Worn & marked furniture, spotty bed cushions & counterpane. Given this is comparatively costly. Never used the restaurant. Staff confused over WIFI password.

Situated along the bank of the Baga river, its away from the busy area around Baga beach, but when I say 'away', I don't mean far - its just lil over a kilometer. The entire stretch where its located, has some really nice places to stay and eat. Its also just 5-10 mins away from the famous Saturday Night Market and the smaller variant of it - Mackie's Saturday Night Market (less than 5 mins away). So the location really is pretty sweet!

The entire resort is spread on a small hill, with a mini van to ferry you up and down. We stayed in one of the serviced apartments. Ours had a two bedrooms, a hall (living room) with an open kitchen and a small balcony overlooking one of the pools (this place has two). It had all the basic amenities like a gas stove, toaster, electric kettle, refrigerator, along with all the utensils and cutlery for 4-6 people. The hall even had a dining table for 4. They do have a TV, but only in the hall.

The bedrooms were nice and clean with good beds. The bathrooms were nice and clean too, however I have a small complaint here - you have to turn the water heater on at least 15 mins prior to having a bath and if you are like me and love steaming hot water, it wouldn't last too long and you'd have to wait again for the water to heat (the winters this year being a lil extra chilly after all).

The housekeeping was top notch and all the sand we brought along with us in our shoes and clothes was all gone when we returned. The reception staff was very friendly and informative too. Arranging for a cab was prompt and easy. One good thing is that they have a tariff card for different locations if you want to take a cab. So this way, you only pay whats mentioned on the card and don't have to haggle with the cab driver. Even getting a bike was no hassle at all.

They have a nice restaurant called Poco Loco thats known for its Mexican food. I only had he breakfast there so can't really comment on it too much. But like I mentioned, the entire stretch is full of nice places to eat, so if you are not a fan of Mexican cuisine, you have Italian, Indian, French and Greek restaurants within walking distance.

This place even has a min supermarket called the 'Bazaar' where you could buy anything from eggs to booze.

Now for one major concern that wasn't too much a problem for me personally, but can be for others. Remember when I said that this place is built on a hill? It does offer a mini van to take you up and down, but that shuttle service stops a lil before midnight. So if you like being out till late, you'd have to walk the lil, but steep hill to get to your room (and mine just happened to be at the very top). Also I don't recall seeing any elevators, so it could be a slight problem for some people.

Overall, this is a great place to stay. especially if you want to stay around Baga beach and don't want to be in a crowded area. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone, whether you go as a couple, with friends or family.

Room Tip: Try getting the rooms at the ground or first floor if you have trouble walking up stairs as there ar...

Resort is built on different levels; cumbersome climb, but resort offers transport to and from gate. Resort has apartments, three to four floors each building block; no elevator.
Has small swimming pool, spa, gym, grocery store, 'library' with a small collection of fiction books on-site. Restaurant good- Check daily offers for residents. Resort offers pick up and drop from airport. MonteRio is a short walk from the beach and market, and has quite a few local eateries just along the road.
Good for a short stay.

Room Tip: Rooms facing swimming pool; higher level. However, no elevator, and pool furthest from gate!

We were 2 couples with 1 kid each & a single. We had opted for 2 bed apt & I must say the moment I stepped in the appt it was an awesome sight. Fully furnished, with modern amenities and well decorated. 'Sangeeta' the supervisor during my check-in informed me that the appt was that for imperial members & I must say that it was indeed modern & lavish. 'Moshelle' another attendant was also very helpful during my check-in & she ensured quick & smooth check-in. Resort is beautiful with taxi & bike for hire at the entrance. You have to hire vehicle only at that place since it is some what a rule there. Mackay'a Saturday night bazar is at walking distance from the resort & is worth visiting(most recommended). You wld find mostly foreigners, music, variety food, fun & frolic out there. Do not opt for rooms on higher floor as there's no elevators and also buildings are on an uphill. There are 2 swimming pools-1 near reception & other uphill. Reception area pool is better. Grocery & misc items can be bought brom a small bazar within the resort which stocks essential items like water, bread, milk, cheese, butter, soap, razors etc. Also liquor(all varieties),bacardi breezer, soda & soft-drinks are available. Rates are quite reasonable. Loco Poco the restaurant serves Indian,Mexican & other types of food - service at the restaurant is poor and u have to wait for a long time after placing your order. Taste is not that great. Rates not bit on the higher side but wouldnt pinch ur pocket much. There's a Pool table(Rs.50/- for half an hr), carrom(free), table tennis(free). Rooms are fully airconditioned and very relaxing with LCD tv in bedroom & LCD TV & home theatre in living room. 'Jioquolim' or whatever his name was, who was the other supervisor was not only rude but also not helpful or fit for the post. Had bad experience with him in terms of check-out and taxi booking for airport. However overall it was a very good experience and also worth re-visiting

Room Tip: opt for rooms near reception area & with a pool view

All rooms have gone recent rennovation to a reasonably high standard. Restaurant food and service is good plus free wifi. Happy hours between 4-7. K spa is very professional. 7-8 mins walk to baga beach. Apora market held on saturdays is 5 mins walk. Taxi rank very close. I cannot complain. 4 star in my opinion.

This was my third trip to Goa and this time I went with my wife, child (5 yrs) accompanied by my brother-in-law and his wife - making us two couples and a kid. We had opted for a two room apartment. My bro-in-law had stayed here before in a single room setup, which was good but there was more to be done. This time when we saw the setup we were amazed. What we got was a proper two BR flat, with a fully functional kitchen. The rooms were big and spacious with balconies. The drawing room and dining area were also big and spacious. The housekeeping was good and prompt.
It was a complete serviced apartment setup. In one of the bedrooms the two beds were initially placed separately but on our request they were joined promptly. The bathrooms were big with good fittings and a separate shower area.
Having a functional kitchen meant that we could have light breakfast before we moved out (we generally started late around noon or later). We even got a couple of utensils as per our request, without any questions asked. Basically, if the stuff requested was available with the resort, they took no time to bring it to you.
There is also a small store to buy daily needs stuff. We used to get our water cans and breakfast stuff from there.
Overall I was impressed.

Room Tip: Ask for a bathroom with proper shower fittings and if possible check out the room. If you have issue...
