“A decent resort for a 2 week stay”
Reviewed 4 July 2012

We spent 2 weeks here and the entire experience was good except for a few instances. Let me just put it down in point form so it will be easier to read.

The Good:

1. The Room Service and the Food was very good, indeed.
2. The Gym was decent and is largely unused by guests.
3. The K Spa is very professional and offers excellent spa treatments that are real value for money.
4. The Staff are very cordial, polite and helpful.
5. The Grocery Store on site offers a plethora of goodies from alcohol to chocolates to kitchen supplies.
6. We stayed in a 2 room apartment and it was very clean and well appointed with a Fridge, Cooking Facilities and an Iron including a Tv, Air Con and a Balcony.

The Bad

1.They have WiFi, which is a good thing. Even better it is free. What is not good is that there were numerous power cuts due to rain and hence the WiFi does not work. All of this is bearable if not for the fact that you are working while on holiday.
2. The Poco Loco Restaurant was being refurbished and the eating area has been relocated near the loo. Disgusting.
3. The Swimming Pool looked good except for the fact that most of the guests from within India were jumping into the pool with their clothes on and were rather unruly. No one bothered telling them either.
4. The surrounding area of the resort (outside) was unkempt, dirty, smelly and bland. It was exacerbated by the fact that it was the rainy season.

Not at all close to the beach. Uphill climb to the rooms and very poorly maintained. dirty towels and poor facilities. two swimming pools but both were quite dirty. others were allowed to enter the pool in sweaty clothes and normal clothes rather than swim wear. no attendant to stop them.
A joke of a jacuzzi - no water pressure at all.
Not many activities. table tennis and pool. Pool was chargeable.
Staff not very helpful.
only redeeming factor was good food and live jazz at the restaurant on Saturday night.
Avoid if you want to have a nice holiday. many nicer places nearby.

Away from beach, very poor service and poorly maintained facilities
Much better places available for stay in goa.
Avoid this place if you want to enjoy your Goa holidays
Long uphill walk for rooms, pool jacuzzi had poor pressure on the jets when asked no proper reply received.
Mainly for people who want to cook their own food while on vacation that is not what we prefer, breakfast had limited choices no buffet breakfast as in most resorts

Room Tip: Some other hotel...

Stayed at RGBC for 4 days from 24th to 28th. the entire property is quite charming and peaceful. rooms are wonderful. the location is great...close to baga bridge, just 2 mins (approx. 1 km) by a bike from tito's lane or britto's shack. close to anjuna and vagator beaches too (by bike ofcourse). the resort is clean and well equipped and has a convenience store in the resort itself in case you need any supplies (everything's sold at market rates). you can arrange for a bike or tourist vehicle at reasonable rates right outside the resort's gate. the staff was very friendly and housekeeping prompt and efficient. poco loco the resort's restaurant was also great, they provide free wifi to everyone in the restaurants. wifi is also available in the hotel lobby but not for mobile devices (for security reasons they said). goa is great!!! already looking forward to going there next year (went 2 yrs back for the first time)...would surely stay at RGBC monterio again!

Room Tip: rooms in the last (topmost) building have a great view. but if you dont want to climb ask for a room...

WOW - this is a little calm oasis in an otherwise hectic area of Goa.

The staff could not be more charming and accommodating and the location along the Baga river is tranquil and beautiful. Set into the hillside this resort has a wonderful ambiance and charm.

Housekeeping and room service were courteous, charming and helpful as was Rangeeta and her reception staff. The restaurant waiters were also fast and courteous even though busy.

Along the river walk to the beach there are numerous varied places to eat but I certainly recommend Poco Loco - the resort restaurant. They have a grerat selection and Mexican food is a nice change from usual Goan fare. In addition we were lucky enough to be there on Friday to see the wonderful Jazz band they had engaged and to soak up their musci

Although the top apartments require a climb to the back of the resort (not really suitable for the older or infirm if they have walking problems) they are marvellously situated for a great view and I loved to sit here in the morning or early evening.

Ventured into town (Calangute) one night and visited the bars around the Tito's area - young ones love it here but it was all a little too busy for me so I went home at 2am!

This is a lovely resort and I would love to return here again soon. The Spa offers great treatments and is not overpriced wither!

There is something in this area to do for everyone, young or old with the night market only around the corner too and Anjuna just up the road. Panjim is only a short car journey away as is Mapusa and all the beaches of Arambol, Mandrem, Vagator, etc.

Wil come again for sure!
A great base to explore this part of Goa.

Room Tip: If you have no difficulties with a climb and stairs choose the top of the resort for peace and a lov...

We stayed RCI at RGBC and had a great week. Resort is very good but on a steep slope so may not be suitable for those with disabilities.

Room was excellent, clean, well equipped with two balconies. Staff very friendly and pool areas nice but could do wth a few more loungers. NIce restaurant, we didn't eat there as much cheaper options outside but looked OK with jazz bands etc.

Resort is out of town but we rented mopeds (£3 per day) ad got around easily. Lots of taxis outside to take you into town for approx £2 per journey.

Only thing that annoyed us was that they offered free WIFI for people with laptops but not via phones and they couldnt really give us a good reason for this!

Good standard accommodation. Good restaurants around include Starlight in Arpora (authentic Indian experience, dodgy toilets) and Danny's opposite resort accross the river.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at bottom of slope. Some on 5th floor with no lift so need to be fit.
