We could not have had a better holiday at the Villa Alina.
The Villa is beautiful and the renovations done on the pool area are amazing. I really like how there is a family history surrounding the villa and that there are photos and memorabilia of the villa & family's past for us to feel a part of.
The hosts are so helpful and generous, we didn't have to think about logistics / planning / transportation at all as Julia and Henry were on hand to organise on our behalf.
Laxmi makes the most amazing eggs and fresh fruit picked from the gardens for breakfast!!
The location is perfect - 2 minute walk to beach, cafes and shops. It is a bustling area however when you are in the villa grounds surrounded by Palm trees, you are in complete privacy & tranquility - so you really can have the best of both worlds.
We went on some cool trips out to the Spice plantation, Panjim and Old Goa which were fab recommendations. I would also really recommend visiting the restaurant on holiday Street by the Villa called A Reverie, it was an amazing experience.
It was nice to be able to chill out by the pool and head to the beach shacks whenever we fancied. 10/10 we cannot WAIT to come back!
PS. we were only 2 of us but I think this would be a really great place to come as a big group as it is so large and can easily cater for 14 people :)
This is our second stay at Villa Alina in Goa and again it did not disappoint - in fact it gets better each time. Villa Alina is perfect accommodation for a large group with very close proximity to the beach, restaurants, shopping and spas - though you tend not the stray to far from that amazing infinity edge pool! The villas staff are wonderful and nothing is to much trouble. They greet you on arrival with flowers, cold towels and drinks and are there to wave goodbye when you leave. All this hospitality has made us fall in love with Goa and we cannot wait for our next visit.
Villa Alina is a delight. julia Nazareth looked after us so well. all our needs were catered for. the villa is beautiful, the pool and verandah are a haven away from the heat. the staff were fantastic and discreet. we will never forget our stay at Villa Alina. five stars from us. thanks so much. JO and ROBERT PRICE.
From breakfast to evening meal (if requested) the staff were there to look after our every need... a choice of excursions taken care of by management staff... chilled and comfortable around the pool and a short walk to the beach ... the atmospheric feel of Villa Alina was perfect for our 16 strong crew...!!!! loved our stay and can't wait to return...
We loved every moment of our stay in the beautiful Villa Alina. The location is excellent...we spent days by the pool and days by the beach which is only 4 minutes walk away. The villa itself is hidden away behind palm trees so is quiet and peaceful during the day. Julia, the owner, is there to help organise day trips and taxis to different beaches. We visited Ashvem beach, the night market and did a boat trip on the Mandovi river fishing for crabs and eating them for our lunch.
The staff at the villa - Henry and Laxmi are so helpful and prepare wonderful breakfasts with the best dal i ate in India :) On the night we arrived we had a Goan dinner prepared by the staff (pre-ordered) which is was absolutely delicious.
We came with six friends and we all want to come back again as soon as possible. Wonderful place.
Perfect setting for an ideal relaxing holiday. I spent it with my family that included 3 young grandchildren and my 2 daughters. The kids (9,9,5) loved playing in the infinity pool which also has a special shallow childs area. The pool has a shower and toilet adjacent to it. The decor is traditional Portuguese with added luxury. My room had a larger than average double bed with a very comfortable mattress and cotton sheets. The rooms were cleaned daily which meant they were always spotless.
We had daal for breakfast which was ordered specially and tasted amazing. You can also have the alternative of a European selection which includes fresh fruit, bread, cereal and eggs.
Your day can be spent by the pool chilling or a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach. My favourite occupation was shopping and bartering with the local friendly traders.
I can not recommend staying at Villa Alina enough, 5 mins from the beach, and an amazing base to explore Goa from. This is a place you'll want to return again and again to, with excellent staff and decor. It has maintained the look of a traditional Goan villa with the luxuries that a world class 21st century villa should have.
Group holidays to Villa Alina really do convey the sense that this place is a home, and gives you a far more authentic Goan experience than any multi-floor hotel could ever do. To add to this, Julia and Henry provide were excellent at accommodating us and were very helpful in arranging trips to markets and restaurants.
Our holiday to Goa was made infinitely better staying at such a wonderful villa.
