Sonesta Inns, nestled in the leafy neighbourhood of Candolim is a perfect place for a weekend sojourn. We stayed there for three nights taking advantage of 26 January which fell on Thursday. Located off Fort Aguada Road, the facility is within five minutes walk from the beach.
A duplex, it boasts of drawing room and kitchen on the ground floor and three bedrooms on the floor above, two of which have attached toilets. In addition, there are two common bathrooms, one on each floor. There's also a private parking area and a backyard. Each room is equipped with a split air conditioner and a fan. The kitchen has all the necessary amenities and equipment (including kitchenware and a refrigerator) so those who prefer home cooking to eating out won't be disappointed. All you need is groceries and a faculty for cooking :-) And there are plenty of shops on Fort Aguada Road for the groceries.
The facility is well maintained and clean. We did encounter some issues like a dysfunctional remote control and occasional drop in water pressure, but these are only minor inconveniences. The place is ideal for a group of five or six people, budget-wise as well as in terms of comfort. I strongly recommend Sonesta Inns for anyone wanting to have the best of both urban and rustic worlds.
Well kept villa
assistance at any hour
perfectly located near the beach and no worries of any unsafety,,,Kids loved it a lot and especial;y the garden was well kept,.. trust me u wont feel like dirtying it
The villa itself was great. Located centrally to village and to the beach. However, on the last day my brother, who had placed his wallet with substantial money in the safe found that on opening the safe on the last day $1000 was missing. The safe could not be opened with the code and had to be broken into suggesting that someone else had already been there. The incident was reported to the local police. The consensus is that there have been similar incidents in the past. In fact the lawyer that Dexter DeSouza came with mentioned that to his knowledge at least 7 similar incidents in the past have occurred. My brother was greatly inconvenienced and hopes he may be able to recover his money!
