Didn't stop for a meal this time around, but picked up all our traditional favourites here. Pineapple tarts are highly recommended!

We went there earlier than the opening times, staff were adamant that they will be shut and only open at 11:30am, so we tried to find out if we could grab a table and even just browse the menu first. Instead we were told to wait outside and basically stood waiting under the hot sun at that time of the day!! The queue started to form quite long and we saw families queuing with kids and we patiently waited until 11:30am. But there was no sign of opening until probably around 11:40-11:45am! If the food was great it would have compensated for all the unpleasantness that we encountered. We tried the nyonya laksa - being a nyonya myself I know what they should taste like and unfortunately this one didn't make the cut and it was below average, pai tee - quite good, with very spicy chili sauce, popiah - average nothing memorable and apam balik durian - would not have it again, it was not very good. I don't know what the hype were and clearly this restaurant is quite over-rated! Unfortunately, the Peranakan food scene in Melaka has deteriorated just as quickly as the speed of the new hotels mushrooming all across town over the recent years.

Heard a lot about this place and finally went there for lunch on a Friday. Went there with my hubby and 2 kids. Reach the place around 1145 and there is already a group of 12 in the queue. They opened at 12 and we were given a table for 4 downstairs. Food is so so, perhaps we didn't order the right ones because we ordered those non spicy fried rice, soup and Kang kong. The Assam fish is good and otak is ok. Will recommend for those who have not been there it is not worth queuing for it. Saw a long queue when we left the place after lunch at 1pm.

Everything one reads about eating in Melaka recommends Nancy's Kitchen so we were a bit skeptical but it really is very good.

Yes, it's quite small, and you sit fairly close to other tables, but it's not exactly cramped as some of the reviews suggest. We sat downstairs, right at the front, so perhaps upstairs is more crowded...

The staff speak good English and other than a brief mix-up with one of our dishes being delivered to the wrong table the service was fine and the food reasonably priced.

The chicken candlenut is particularly delicious!

We started queuing for this restaurant at 11:45. We were seated at roughly 12:30 but our food did not come until 2:00. By the time we finished it was 2:40. We had close to a 3 hour lunch!

Don't be mistaken though. The waitress's attitude throughout the meal was sincere and nice. They just weren't able to streamline their logistics efficiently to serve their customers promptly. The waitress apologized a couple of times and we accepted it, but those in a hurry might want to consider elsewhere.

Food wise it's flavorful but I would not consider it unique. It's typical Nnonya food in a touristy street. They do have a wide collection of Nnonya food in a comfortable setting hence those who are newcomers to Melaka may give it a shot.
